Usamos was y were para expresar ideas en tiempo pasado del verbo to Be.
Negative form
When we want to express an idea in the negative form of the verb to be, we use was not and were
not.
Forma negativa
Cuando queremos expresar una idea en la forma negativa del verbo to be, usamos was not y were
not.
Example:

Interrogative form
If you want to ask questions with the past tense of the verb to BE, then you should start by Was or
Were followed by the subject.

Si desea hacer preguntas con el tiempo pasado del verbo to BE, debe comenzar con Was o Were
seguido del sujeto.

When we express ideas in the past tense, we can also use other verbs different
from the verb to BE. These verbs can be regular or irregular. Their conjugation in
the past tense is different.
o Regular verbs in past are formed by adding -ED to the infinitive form of the
verb.
Example :
walk + ed = walked
change + ed = changed
love + d = loved
hope + d = hoped
decide + d = decided
Example:
Otras características particulares de la regla ortográfica rut agregan solo d cuando el verbo
termina en e.
amor + d = amado
esperanza + d = esperado
decidir + d = decidido
Ejemplo:
Quería estudiar medicina pero luego cambié de opinión y decidí estudiar derecho.
Vowel + y
When the verb ends with Y, you should change Y by I and add ed if Y is preceded by a vowel, like in
the following examples:
enjoy + ed = enjoyed
play + ed = played
Example:
vocal + y
Cuando el verbo termina en Y, debes cambiar Y por I y agregar ed si Y va precedida de una vocal,
como en los siguientes ejemplos:
disfrutar + ed = disfrutado
jugar + ed = jugado
Tiempo pasado de verbos regulares que terminan en "consonante + y" [consonante + ied]
estudiar + y » i = estudiado
llorar + y » i = llorar
llevar + y » i = llevar
Ejemplo:
Mientras que la mayoría de los verbos regulares en inglés usan la terminación "-ed" para el
tiempo pasado, los verbos irregulares cambian su forma en el tiempo pasado.

We can also use Wh-questions when you require more information. You should use the
following structure:
