Title: ELECTRICAL DEVICES CONFIGURATION SG 4.X

1 AIM

The aim of this document is to define the configurations and setting of all devices assembled in the electrical
cabinets of SG 4.X.

2 SCOPE

SG 4.X platform (50Hz/60Hz).

To ensure that the devices are configurated correctly, during the fabrication, assembly and commissioning of
the cabinets/switchgear, the settings will be adjusted and checked by different groups.

Provider The device shall be set up by the Cabinets manufacturer.

G1 (Group 1) Cabinets In order to avoid misunderstanding, a default setting has been included when
manufacturer. different values are possible.
The device shall be set up or revised in the Nacelle assembly plant only when:
Nacelle
G2 (Group 2) 1. A default value comes from Cabinets manufacturer.
assembly plant
2. The device is critical.
The device shall be revised in the commissioning phase only when the devices
G3 (Group 3) Commissioning
is critical.

The checks / adjustments that must be done by each of the groups in the devices are marked in this document
with an “X” in each component.

5 MV PROTECTIONS SETTINGS

5.1 SWITCHGEAR

The switchgear settings are all included in the document GD279373 “RD RELAY SETTINGS FOR WTG MV
SWITCHGEAR”.
The settings are defined based on switchgear type, windfarm voltage (Kv) and WTG main transformer power
(kVA).

5.2 APTIF relay (AA1401-KR849)

Follow next procedure to access to the relay and to upload settings.

5.2.1 Communication procedure

Perform the next procedure to access to the relay in order to connect to the web server of the SEL-849, the
relay and your PC must be connected to the same Ethernet network (192.168.9.X by default) Where X shall be
different to station number within the wind farm

In example; a Wind farm of 49 WTGs with IP domain 192.168.1.X. then PC shall be configured with IP address
192.168.1.50 as following picture.

o Connect a standard Ethernet cable to the port 2 of APTIF relay (KR849). Connector is located at
one side of the relay body:

Title: ELECTRICAL DEVICES CONFIGURATION SG 4.X

o Connect the cable to laptop Ethernet – LAN port (RJ45)

o Open any WEB Browser (IEXPLORER, CHROME, MOZILLA FIREFOX …)

o Type at URL bar following IP address: 169.254.0.Y and press ENTER, Where Y is the station
number defined as per wind turbine number

Relay will open its own web page. It´s an interface to access to relay settings without installing any
dedicated software.
The Login page of the web server allows you to access either ACC, 2AC, or CAL level. The menu item
you select under Access Level determines the access level at which you enter the web server.

o Select 2AC: View and Change option at access level control:

o type password in 2AC row and press login.

additional level access is required in order to update settings use the following passwords as
below table

o for view settings. Select with the mouse pointer the menu SETTINGS:

o Logging in to the web server with 2AC access allows you to modify relay

o settings (with ACC access, you can only view settings). When you select

o Settings from the navigation pane, the screen displays all available classes of settings in the
SEL-849

Note: settings can be modified at this point. Since there are a lot of settings to be submitted, A preload
configuration shall be included for each wind farm to be imported following instruction in point 4.2

5.2.2 Import settings

The web server is a convenient way to both export settings from a relay and import settings to a relay. Each
settings class is saved in a separate .7z file according to frequency and voltage WF level.

Located on the navigation pane, System consists of four categories (File Management, passwords, Date/Time,
and Device Reset). Use File Management to export and import settings from the relay.

Decompress the attached file to obtain all settings in separated *.txt files. Each file shall be imported into relay via
Web server.

Select the class of settings you want to import from pre-configurated Settings (.txt files)... Then, you can click
Import Settings to upload configuration.
Repeat the import procedure for all .txt files.

6 CABINET SETTINGS

Depending of the motor supplier the figure of the current could deviate.
For breakers 5% is admitted.

Nevertheless, frequency drive parameters shall be confirmed with the nameplate of the motor, in terms of rated
speed and current in 50Hz, and set up according these values.
