THE REPUBLIC OF KOREA SCHEDULED FROM 13-15 C)
1t is submitted that the Embassy of Pakistan at Republic of Korea has intimated that the
Provincial Administration of Jeju of Republic of Korea intends to hire seasonal worker and wants signing of
‘Agreement /MOU with provinces of Pakistan for provision of seasonal workers for agriculture sector. The
Embassy of Pakistan in Korea has recommended the Gilgit Baltistan as appropriate partner to provide
seasonal worker on harsh and severe weather conditions of Jeju province.
2. Meanwhile, the Jeju Provincial government has also shared a MOU and Draft Agreement with
the Gilgit Baltistan on which a zoom meeting was held on 10% February 2023 to discuss it. In which the
representatives of both provincial governments including official of Pakistani Embassy at Korea participated.

3. After detailed deliberation on MOU and Draft Agreement, it was decided that the Labour
department, GB may float a summary to the Chief Minister, GB to get approval of this MOU from the
Cabinet by circulation, The Labour department, GB had moved a summary to the Chief Minister GB and the
Chief Minister recommended the summary for approval of the cabinet. (F/B)
4 Now, the Jeju Special Self -Governing Province has invited the official from Gilgit Baltistan for
face to face agreement on seasonal foreign workers and possible date for the agreement is scheduled to be
held from November 13 — 15% March, 2023, in Jeju Special Self -Governing Province Republic of Korea

7. As pet Sr12, Schedule-V of GilgitBaltistan Rules of Business 2009, His Excellency
Governor Gilgi-Batistan i competent to allow foreign visits in respect of offices of APUG in BPS -18 and
above as depicted at serial No.6(2) whereas, the Honorable Chief Minster Gilgit-Baltistan is competent to
allow foreign visits in respect ofthe officers oer than APUG Schedule I-B (officers at S# 3,45 & 6) -Annex-

8, Approval of the Honorable Chief Minister is solicited:
i. To approve the participation of Industries, Labour & Commerce department GB in
MOU signing Ceremony at Jeju province, republic of Korea
Participation of the above delegation mentioned at para-6/N of GB Government (0
participate in Signing Ceremony at Jju
iii, Release of Rs.668 Million out of block allocation of Finance Department GB for
TADA of departmental delegation. The members of the delegation other than Industries
Department shall claim their TA/DA from their respective Departments.
09. Governor Gilgit Baltistan is requested to approve visit of Chief Secretary Gilgit Baltistan
