THE VITALITY OF TEACHERS’ ENGAGEMENT IN QUALITATIVE RESEARCH

Teachers who are engaged in educational studies have higher exposure to the

nature and application of qualitative research. Truly, qualitative method is one of the

research-based approaches that enable the teachers to pose a more in-depth and

profound understanding to the nature and extent of various and multiple educational

problems and issues. Qualitative research fosters opportunities for the educators to

approach educational problems in a more analytical, thematic and theoretical approach.

There is wide range of advantages that teachers can gain out of qualitative

research engagement. One is that qualitative method allows teachers to analyze the

realities, scenarios and deeper meanings behind every school problem and issue.

Qualitative analysis eventually leads to opportunities to discover, explain and conclude

facts, causes, factors and aspects that define the extent of problems and situations.

Moreover, engagement in qualitative analysis, discussions and thematic analysis

allows the teacher-researchers to find and draw meanings out of every educational

issue that affect their pedagogical and professional endeavor and the welfare of their

learners. Understanding the causes and factors via qualitative method enables the

teachers to reflect on the profound realities of the educational situations involved. Thus,

from these qualitative analysis and reflections, teachers are being guided and directed

to the conceptualization and formulation of relevant theoretical applications and

principles that they can personally apply in their own pedagogical and professional

engagement and duties.
