Tensile Strength................80 – 120 KSI
Hardness > 600HB/55.7HRC
(per ASTM A532)
MICROSTRUCTURE
The microstructure of Gasite OS34G alloy consists
of refined carbides in a mostly martensitic matrix that
offers excellent wear resistance as well as good
corrosion resistance and mechanical strength.
WEAR RESISTANCE
As shown in Figure 1, Gasite OS34G offers equal
or better wear resistance than the standard GIW
high-chromium white iron 28G.
CORROSION RESISTANCE
Containing higher chromium and other alloy
elements in both carbides and matrix, Gasite
OS34G provides better corrosion resistance
over the standard 28G. The general pH range
for OS34G is 3.5-12.5 depending on other
corrosion factors.
T90G
Gasite OS34G mostly conforms chemistry and
physical properties to ASTM A532 or A532
Modified, Class III, Type A.

HEAT TREATMENT
Thermal treatment is applied to this alloy to
achieve ideal corrosion, wear and mechanical
properties.
TEST SPECIMENS AND CERTIFICATIONS
A chemical analysis of each heat is conducted
prior to pouring. For further quality control,
GIW pours test bars randomly. After thermal
treating, the tensile strength and hardness of
the test bars are measured and recorded, and
the casting is checked for uniform hardness at
several locations.
APPLICATION
Gasite OS34G alloy is designed for manufacturing
pump parts and other castings for wear applications
where some corrosion factors may also exist.
