Self-management

● Control impulsive feelings and behaviors: Take a few deep breaths before
reacting to a situation. Try to understand why you are feeling the way you are
feeling and what is causing you to react in a certain way.
● Take initiative: Be proactive and take action to achieve your goals. Don't wait for
someone else to tell you what to do.
● Follow through on commitments: Make sure you keep your promises. This will
show others that you are reliable and trustworthy.
● Adapt to changing circumstances: Be flexible and adaptable. Be willing to
change your plans if necessary.

Self-awareness

● Recognize own emotions and deduce its effect on thoughts and behavior: Pay
attention to your emotions and how they are affecting your thoughts and
behavior. Are you feeling angry, sad, happy, or anxious? How are these
emotions affecting the way you are thinking and behaving?
● Recognize strengths and weaknesses: Be honest with yourself about your
strengths and weaknesses. This will help you set realistic goals and make better
decisions.
● Demonstrate self-confidence: Believe in yourself and your abilities. Don't be
afraid to take risks and step outside of your comfort zone.

Social awareness

● Recognize emotional cues: Pay attention to the nonverbal cues that people give
off. These can be very helpful in understanding how they are feeling.
● Express socially comfortable feelings: Be able to express your emotions in a way
that is appropriate for the situation.
● Recognize the power dynamics in a group or organization: Be aware of the
different levels of power and influence within a group or organization. This will
help you navigate relationships and build alliances.

Relationship management

● Develop and maintain good relationships: Be a good listener and be supportive


of others. Be willing to help others and be there for them when they need you.
● Communicate using ABC (Accuracy, Brevity and Clarity): Be clear and concise
when you communicate with others. Be sure to get your point across accurately
and efficiently.
● Inspire and influence others: Be able to motivate and inspire others to achieve
their goals. Be a role model and set a good example.
● Work well in a team: Be able to work cooperatively with others to achieve
common goals. Be willing to share ideas and be open to feedback.
● Manage conflict: Be able to resolve conflict in a constructive and positive way.
Be willing to listen to the other person's perspective and be willing to
compromise.

Developing these emotional intelligence skills can help you succeed in life, both
personally and professionally. They can help you build better relationships, manage
stress more effectively, and make better decisions.
