LESSON 3
What Is Symmetry?
A line of symmetry : the line that divides a shape or an
object into two equal and symmetrical parts. We also call
this line the axis of symmetry or mirror line because it
divides the figure symmetrically, and the divided parts
look like mirror reflections of each other.

➢ Circle can be divided into 4 right angles or two straight angle . Each angle has 360°

1
➢ A right angle is 90 degrees because a right angle is of the circle 360° ÷ 4 = 90°
4

➢ There are 180 degrees in a straight angle because it is half of the circle , or because

it is the same as 2 right angles
