The Municipality of Alegria had implemented the Solid Waste Management Policy to
its Barangays. However, the remote areas of Algeria need improvements with its waste
disposal and recycling activities.
Sitio Buntalid is a remote community located in Barangay Ombong, Alegria, Surigao
del Norte. According to 2020 Census, its population contributes the 1,162 residents of the
Barangay Ombong.
The main source of income in Sitio Buntalid is farming. As seen for the development
of the community, the section of Grade 12 HUMSS has initiated to conduct a community-
wide activity regarding Solid Waste Management specifically in Waste Management and
Recycling. This is due to the increasing demand of sustainable waste disposal management
in rural areas.

and promote recycling activities by presenting ideas and practices that will reduce the
production of wastes in Sitio Buntalid.
