I. Context and Teaching and learning by contextual approach is an instructional a innovation

Rationale that was developed at the turn of the 21st century. At the beginning of the
decade, an approach called contextual teaching and learning (CTL) emerged
that innovated the way lessons are taught - it related the "subject matter
content to real world situations" (Berns and Erickson, 2001). A
quasi-experimental research design was utilized. The design included both
pre-assessment and post-assessment data gathering among 37 Grade 4
learners of Nabaong Garlang Elementary School, San Ildefonso, Division of
Bulacan during the first quarter of school year 2019- 2020. From the findings of
the study, the following conclusions were drawn: (1) There is a significant
difference between the pre-assessment performance and post assessment
performance of Grade 4 students in Physical Education; (2) There is a
significant relationship between the self- assessed performance
post-application of Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) and their first
quarter academic performance in Physical Education 4; (3) There is a
significant difference between the self- assessment performance
post-application of Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) to Grade 4
learners as to their gender. Female learners tend to perform and excel more in
Physical Education 4 compared with the males. They are more participative
and engaged during the discussion utilizing contextual teaching and learning
methodology, as observed by Physical Education teacher; and (4) The result of
the study implies that there is a need for teacher to apply Contextual Teaching
and Learning (CTL) in teaching Physical Education subject to improve
students' performance on such.

Question 2. Significant Relationship between Self-Assessment Performance
PostApplication to Contextual Teaching and Learning and First Quarter
Academic Performance in Physical Education 4.
3. Significant Difference on Self-Assessment Performance
Post-Application of CTL of Grade 4 Learners as to their Gender.

III. This study is to attempt and assess the effectiveness of Contextual Teaching
Proposed and Learning practice as applied in Physical Education instruction in terms of
Innovation, effectiveness in the performance of Grade 4 learners of Nabaong Garlang
Intervention Elementary School, Nabaong Garlang, San Ildefonso, Bulacan. From the data
and Strategy collected, implications to educational management and to the community were
explored. Overall, this study served as a guide for the adoption of Contextual
Teaching and Learning (CTL) among elementary schools in the province.
IV. Action Research A quasi-experimental research design was utilized. The design included both
Methods pre-assessment and post-assessment data gathering on one sample to make
it an independent sample design. The group infused was infused with
Contextual Teaching and Learning. Before the application of Contextual
Teaching and Learning, a self-assessment performance was conducted. The
pre-assessment served as a baseline data. After the application of Contextual
Teaching and Learning, the self-assessment performance checklist was again
given to the group. The results of the academic performance in the first quarter
in Physical Education were correlated to the result of a self-assessment
checklist of students.

After my daily/final demonstration lessons,

These are the things I am happy about. First, the improvement that has been evident in my internship journey,
from the way I planned my lessons up to how I executed them. Second, the relationship with my cooperating
teacher and students. As I dig into the deeper meaning of teaching, it is not just about the lesson inside the
classroom that matters the most but also those smiles and energy that I can give to them. Lastly, the accept of
constructive criticisms from my colleagues and seniors. It gives me a lot of courage to move forward and love the
teaching profession more and more.

These are the things that I need to improve on.

The most important thing to consider is the learning and unlearning process. In a setting where diversity is indeed
a challenge, I, or any educator should always learn and unlearn processes that help the learners and anyone to
adapt to the changes brought by continuous learning and development of the learners. Therefore, I should be
capable of doing good sets of innovation that include inclusivity, and sensitivity to technicalities in various
disciplines.

These are the things that I plan to do.

Utilizing game-based learning activities in my class to make the learning process fun and interesting for the
learners and the facilitator.

No words can explain how happy I was. Seeing them screaming loudly with their parents and classmates
was one of the sweetest moments that I have ever seen. It was a wonderful day for everyone as their
efforts turned into a memory that anyone could cherish.

After the Activity, I learned that,

I learned that it is not about the competition that matters, it is the moment when these students
showcase and push themselves beyond their limits. Also, I have seen the essence of conducting events to
take the students away from the pressure and stress of academic challenges.

LEARNING TASK 5

Writing my Reflection

Differentiated instruction benefits our learners because it helps educators to utilize different learning
styles and approaches. It is necessary to showcase various approaches to assess the needs of students
despite the diversity in the learning environment and that could be done by creating good
differentiated instruction.

As a future teacher, I can employ the following strategies in my classes

✔ Discovery learning- In this type of strategy, I am making my students learn things on their own.

✔ Game-Based Strategy- The integration of technology while presenting various disciplines by

making the class more interactive and fun.
✔ Unconditional Positive Regard- Helping the students redeem themselves from failures related
to academics.
✔ Modeled Teaching- Showing the students how to do the tasks.
