Media access to the Scotiabank Place The Scotiabank Place media entrance throughout training camp will be the Gate 3 entrance. Club dressing rooms are located at ice (arena). Please use proper media identification until a day pass is assigned or you receive your 2011-12 season pass. Media availability during training camp All practices will be open to accredited media (no public access unless otherwise stated). The players and coaching staff will be available for interviews at Scotiabank Place following their practices and/or off-ice workouts. Media availability for practices and scrimmages at the Bell Sensplex will also take place at Scotiabank Place when the players return to their dressing room. Please call the Senators media information line 613-599-0275 for daily updates on practice times and media availability.

2011-12 Ottawa Senators Training Camp

Training camp notes CAMP ROSTER The Senators 2011-12 camp roster includes 59 players: six goaltenders, 16 defencemen and 37 forwards. Twenty-three (23) players participated in the 2011 rookie camp and tournament in Oshawa, Ont. The list of camp invitees was built primarily around the Senators draft. Thirty-two (32) were selected by Ottawa in NHL entry drafts, five were acquired in trades, 16 as free agent signings, four on professional tryout contracts and two on amateur tryout contracts. The Senators 2010-11 camp roster included 50 players: five goaltenders, 15 defencemen and 30 forwards. Seventeen (17) players participated in the 2010 rookie camp and tournament in London, Ont. The list of camp invitees was built primarily around the Senators draft. Twenty-six (26) were selected by Ottawa in NHL entry drafts, six were acquired in trades, 16 as free agent signings and two on AHL contracts.

ROOKIE TOURNAMENT The Senators participated in their 10th rookie camp and tournament this September. This years tournament was held in Oshawa, Ont., with the Chicago Blackhawks, Pittsburgh Penguins and Toronto Maple Leafs participating. The Senators won the tournament by finishing with a 3-0-0 record: a 4-0 win over Pittsburgh; a 6-5 win over Chicago and a 4-3 overtime win over Toronto.

Born: May 21, 1981 (Park Ridge, Ill.) 2010-11 Teams: Colorado (NHL), Ottawa (NHL) Acquired: Traded from Colorado in exchange for Brian Elliott on Feb. 18, 2011 Draft: 2001 Chicagos third-round pick (73rd overall) 2010-11: Made his Senators debut with 47 saves in a 1-0 shootout win at Toronto on Feb. 19 Became only the second Senators goaltender (Patrick Lalime) to earn a shutout victory in his debut and only the fourth NHL goalie to do it in the post-expansion era while facing at least 40 shots Appeared in 200th career NHL game at Edmonton on Dec. 30 (with the Avalanche) Made 200th career NHL start at Buffalo on March 13 His 24 wins were the second-highest total of his career Also made 47 saves on March 27 at Atlanta (5-4 SO loss) Was the Senators monthly Molson Cup award winner in March. Born: July 24, 1991 (Goteborg, Sweden) 2010-11 Teams: Binghamton (AHL), Ottawa (NHL) Draft: 2009 - Ottawas second second-round pick (46th overall) 2010-11: Competed in his first full season of professional hockey, primarily with Binghamton (AHL), but was also recalled to Ottawa (NHL) on five occasions Made his NHL debut by playing the opening 4:42 of the third period at Montreal on Oct. 16, making three saves on three shots Became the youngest goalie to start a game in Senators franchise history on Jan. 13 at the N.Y. Islanders and made 20 saves in a 6-4 Ottawa victory to record his first NHL win Earned 14 of the B-Sens 16 post-season wins in goal and was awarded the American Hockey Leagues Jack Butterfield Trophy as playoff MVP after helping the B-Sens capture the Calder Cup Registered three playoff shutouts Helped Team Sweden reach the bronze-medal game at the 2011 IIHF World Junior Championship in Buffalo, N.Y.
