Client Company: Mrs. Z, PLTW Engineering Class

Target Consumer: Office Supplies Fake Incorporated

Problem Statement: When observed the pencil sharpener was too loud, not
easy to hold, and unable to be cleaned.

Design Statement: Design and Explain a creative way to make the

sharpener quieter, easy to hold, and have the ability to be
cleaned.

Constraints: The sharpener cannot get bigger.

The sharpener has to weigh similar to the original weight
The sharpener has to be able to sharpen pencils
The plan has to be developed in 5 days.
The sharpener has to look aesthetically pleasing.
The sharpener’s sound has to be less than 30dBA.
The sharpener has to be cleaned easily.
The sharpener has to be able to be held with one hand
safely.
