Cabuyao City

dispose and treat their wastes?
• Do the municipal of Cabuyao and the Barangays have proper facilities
and disposal site for Solid Wastes?
• Are information regarding the solid waste management ordinances
properly disseminated from within the municipal and other authorities
involved to the public?
• Do the residents of Cabuyao follow these ordinances?
• Are the violations to these ordinances being monitored and are the
respective sanctions being charged?

• Prohibition on disposal and littering on public places
• Based on section 48 of RA 9003
• Butong: Littering is still common, hard to teach people because of lack
of discipline
• Pulo & Gulod: Inconsistent hauling of trash lead to people littering
• Gulod: people fail to segregate
• Metrowaste & Pulo: struggle in collection because of the lack of proper
containers
• Tanggapan ng Punonglungsod Secretary: segregation can lower the
volume of wastes and can be beneficial
• Only 26% of the people are aware of the ordinance

• Barangays lack budget to build MRF and keep
it operational
• Because of no MRF, trash is taken to a private
sanitary landfill in Batangas
• SWM is low priority
• Change in contractor causes problems
• Sanctions and fines on the business level only
