--------Before we start our lesson, let us pray the Lord’s Prayer.

From the last lesson we have, we identified some basic functions of MS PowerPoint including its
parts and functions, this time we will know more about Microsoft PowerPoint, how to use it
much easier and convenient to the users. Just like MS Word there are also basic commands and
tools that can be used whenever we are using MS PowerPoint and what are these? We have the
following:
• Enter – used to start a new slide/bullet
• Copy and paste – command to copy selected text and graphics from one
slide to another
• Cut and paste – if you want to move a data by changing the order of your
slide and bullet in the outline pane you will simply click on the icon and
drag it to its new location
• Delete – if you want to delete a slide, just click the slide and press delete
• Adding or Inserting a new slide – in adding/inserting a new slide you can
just simply go to the Insert tab then click the New Slide button. You can
also press the Enter key in the keyboard to add easily.
• Hiding, Moving and Copying slides
 In hiding a slide all you have to do is click the slide you want to hide then right
click your mouse then choose Hide option.
 In moving a slide just simply click the slide you want to move, upon clicking the
mouse do not release it yet until you drag the slide in a new location and then
release it once it is already in the new location.
 In copying a slide you just need to click the slide you want to copy then right
click choose the paste option

The commands above can be done either inside the content of a slide layout or in the Slides or
Preview Pane.

If you have computer, laptop, or cellphone which has MS PowerPoint you can try it at home.

In MS PowerPoint, there are different views available for you to use in creating your
presentation and which are used in MS PowerPoint very often because it is very important for
you to focus on the content of your presentation but when you are done with the content, you can
concentrate on how your presentation will look. We have three (3) Slide views below and these
can be found on the lower right part of the MS PowerPoint screen besides the Notes and
Comments buttons.

1. Normal view – the normal view is the default view setting when you are creating a slide

2. Slide sorter view – enables you to view the thumbnails of all your slide

3. Reading view – this allows you to preview the slide show presentation

Let us end our class by praying, Glory be. . .
