Water is an essential resource for all life on Earth and if water sources become contaminated due to
pollution, it can lead to bad impacts to us. Water pollution is a consequential problem in our society
because it has a lot of impact on the environment and also on society. Water pollution occurs when
pollutants contaminate water sources and make the water unsuitable for use in drinking, cooking,
cleaning, swimming, and other activities. Chemicals, garbage, germs, and parasites are examples of
pollutants. Water is eventually polluted by all types of pollution. Currently this water pollutes us so
we need an action, in every simple action we can make a big impact to lessen it. So here’s some ways
to prevent water pollution including the; Pick up litter and throw it away in a garbage can, Blow or
sweep fertilizer back onto the grass if it gets onto paved areas, Don't put fertilizer on the grass right
before it rains. The chemicals will wash into storm drains and waterways. Mulch or compost grass or
yard waste. Or, leave it in your yard if you can't compost, Don't blow leaves into the street. This
clogs and damages storm drains, Wash your car or outdoor equipment where it can flow to a gravel
or grassy area instead of a street, Don't pour your motor oil down the storm drain. Take it to the
nearest auto parts store, and Never clean up a spill by hosing it into a storm drain. Place kitty litter,
sand, or another absorbent on the spill. Once the liquid becomes solid, sweep it up and throw it in a
garbage can. If we follow and make these small steps we can prevent water pollution and conserve
more water.
