The Trackerball function is to position the cursor on the screen. The cursor is shown
inside the Radar Operational Area (PPI) as a cross hair marker (+) and as an arrow
(Ñ) outside the Radar Operational Area. When the cursor is placed over a menu
button it changes to a hand (-), the button becomes brighter, and the Cursor Cue
indicator located at the bottom right-hand corner of the screen indicates the current
function of the three pushbuttons. When some functions inside the Radar
Operational Area are selected, the cursor changes to a square ( ).

Issue 5 Page 1
KH2060-R

The content of the Cursor Cue indicator changes as the cursor is moved around the
screen, and indicates the currently available options. When the cursor is outside the
Radar Operational Area, provided it is over an 'active' area of the screen (-), an
additional transparent Cursor Cue will appear after 1 second.

Within the Radar Operational Area the cursor is used for: plotting, the selection of
radar and AIS targets, the selection of Ownship for off-centering, positioning the
EBL/VRM/PI lines and for the position/selection of mapping or graphic functions.

When the on-screen button is associated with a drop-down menu, a is shown at the
right hand side of the button. To show the drop-down menu place the cursor on the
on-screen button and left-click. The drop-down menu is shown. To make a selection
move the cursor to the required selection on the drop-down menu and left-click. To
close a drop-down menu without making a change left-click anywhere.

Some functions or controls are associated with Slider Bars. These can be set either by
placing the cursor at the new setting and left-clicking; or by placing the cursor on the
Slider Bar, pressing and holding the left-hand pushbutton and dragging the Slider Bar
to the new position, then releasing the left-hand pushbutton.

MCI (MantaDigital Control Interface)

The MCI Panel allows a number of functions to be carried out using discrete controls
instead of the trackerball and pushbuttons. Refer to the User Manual KH2060 for
details.
