GENERATION Z

By Arman

It has been some years people are talking about Millennials. There have been a bunch of researches
about them to know its abilities, skills, characteristics and so on. But people talk about new generations lately,
named Generation Z. Generations Z are born between 1996 to 2010 (according to career planner). This paper
will focus on explaining briefly regarding the strengths and the weaknesses of Gen Z.
There are three major strengths of this generation. Firstly, they are more multitasking. Generation Z
were born into the brave new world of technology. They can type quicker than they can write. The digital
landscape means that they are adept at completing multiple tasks at once, making them efficient all-rounders
when it comes to the workplace. Secondly, technological competency. Gens Z have higher technological
competency than previous generations. Their ability to understand and operate a variety of software and
devices makes them appealing to many companies. They have innate skills in problem-solving tech issues,
using initiative rather than 300-page manuals, and this approach can lead to revolutionary new ideas. Lastly,
individuality. 92% of Generation Z have a digital footprint. The likes of Instagram, Facebook and Snapchat
all facilitate a desire to be individual. This portrayal of uniqueness is an inherent feature of Gen Z candidates
which is a big advantage in many industries - most notably within the creative sectors.
On the other hand, there are two major weaknesses of this generation. First and foremost, concentration
levels. Technology is a gift and a curse. As a direct result of interference from technology, Gen Z tends to
have lower concentration levels than other generations. The distractions of multiple social media platforms
make their ability to focus on a single task very difficult. The last. Reliance on tech. they have on technology
is actually a disadvantage. Whether or not we like to admit it, technology makes us lazy. In an environment
without tech (or limited tech), Gen Z will surely struggle to thrive and survive.
In conclusion, Gen Z is a generation which is born after Millennial, they born between 1996 to 2010.
They born in tech era which gives them some advantages and disadvantages.
