POLICY GUIDELINES FOR ATTIRE AND PROFESSIONAL APPEARANCE

Iqra University (IU) students across all its constituent campuses are expected to adhere to
appropriate attire as defined in this document.

1.0 Purpose: 
The purpose of these guidelines is to ensure that all students at Iqra University dress in a manner
that is professional and appropriate for the university’s academic and social environment. The
University aims to promote a positive and respectful campus culture.
1.1 Adherence to the following guidelines is expected from students:
a. Students are advised to follow business casual dress code in order to ensure a decent
and dignified public image of the University.

b. Students are advised to dress in business casual except for programs where uniforms
are mandatory. 

c. Students are advised to practice routine hygiene and grooming practices for physical
and oral needs to curtail unkempt appearances and unpleasant odors.

2.0 Attire and Grooming Guidelines: 


2.1 Clothing guidelines require all students to dress in clean, smart casual attire.
2.2 All students are advised to avoid any combination of sheer or revealing garments, tattered or
frayed clothing, clothes with holes, costumes or garments with cartoon, clothing with cut-off
fringes, offensive advertising, obscene language, slogans or symbols reflecting sexual
connotations and/or related to illicit substances.
2.3 All students are expected to:
2.3.1 Opt for any of the listed:  pants, capris, plazzo pants, denim jeans, trousers, shirts,
tunics, T-shirts, kurtas, qameez shalwar, coats, jackets, pullovers, blazers, cardigans,
sweaters, long/full-length skirts, trousers, tops, shirts, tunics, kurtas, skull caps, hats,
casual or formal shoes, boots, joggers, sneakers and sandals.
2.3.2 Avoid the listed: vests, crops, tank tops, shorts, pyjamas, gym pants, pants or
trousers below the normal/acceptable waistline, flip flops, slippers or chappals. 
2.3.3 Layer either with appropriate undergarments or with a shirt, shrug or any
appropriate garment in case of revealing/sheer/see-through or sleeveless garments.

3.0 Compliance Measures


3.1 Students may not be allowed to enter the campus.
3.2 A warning letter may be issued and/or fine may be charged against repeated and
intentional violations.
3.3 Staff and faculty are expected to ensure compliance.
