I. RATIONALE

The purpose of this project proposal is to build a letter standee, cultural icon,

or simply as landmark in front of Mindoro State University Calapan City Campus. A

concrete letter standee are simply stylish and match any interior decor style and is

easy to build. This campus letter standee gives symbolic meanings that individuals

will remember for the rest of their lives. Site development should be handled with the

utmost care and consideration because it can have a significant impact on both a

campus's fundamental functions and its deepest meanings. The visual environment is a

very important factor that contributes to the learning process. Thus, educational settings

should have a WOW factor that would naturally attract students to come to school. This

letter standee is a perfect example of a WOW factor that can attract students. This will

be build in the middle, in front of the campus, specifically, in the middle of CALAPAN

CITY CAMPUS and MINDORO STATE COLLEGE of AGRICULTURE and

TECHNOLOGY logo.

II. SITUATIONAL ANALYSIS

On our proposed project, since Mindoro State College of Agriculture and

Technology became the first university which is Mindoro State University now here

in Oriental Mindoro, we want to make the school a showcase and attract other people

aside from the school staff and students. And we invented the idea of establishing a

school concrete letter standee outside the school premises. On this plan, we want to

make the school more appealing and catch the attention of people outside so we can

acknowledge them also. The school's concrete letter standee contains the word "I,"
and "MinSU" includes the symbol of a heart. We plan to locate it outside the school in

the middle of the front gate. There is a small wall in the middle of the front gate and

available space near the sidewalk; that's why we plan to remove the plant from the

concrete pot and change it to a letter standee to make the school attract people who

pass by. However, because it is located outside, we plan to make it appealing by

adding a live plant climbing on the small wall in the back of the standee, and a light to

make it more attractive, and by putting a barrier beside the sidewalk for the safety of

people because it is near the highway.

III. PROJECT OBJECTIVES AND FEASIBLE OUTCOMES

Objectives:

 To promote MINSU in all incoming college students

 To capture attention of all students and visitors of MINSU

 To serve as an avenue for photograph and other documentations

 To add aesthetic view that will help MINSU a relaxing place

 This proposed project aims to gain more public interest in Minsu.

 It aims to increase the student enrollments annually.

 This idea seeks to enhance the school's allure and appeal to prospective students.

 The purpose of the letter standee is to uphold the cohesion and affection that each

student already possesses. It demonstrates how devoted they were to their studies.

Feasible Outcomes

This project aims to promote MINSU to all incoming college students. It is

expected that through this project, students will be attracted in this school view that

will serve as an avenue for picture taking and other documentations they will need.
Aesthetic view of the school will be improved and visitors and guests will

enjoy they visits. The purpose of this study is to increase awareness of Minus. Within

three to five years, it is anticipated that the projects and concepts will be implemented.

The goal of this idea is to increase the school's attraction and appeal to potential

students. It is anticipated that the institution will strive to expand student enrollment

each year. Students will be impacted by pleasant and orderly settings. Therefore, if the

school has it, the pupils will probably enjoy their time there. If the school has good

facilities, it will give students most of the benefits that they need.

Feasible Short Term Outcomes

1. I love MINSU will be established in front of the school

2. Students, faculty and visitors will be attracted

3. When enrollment increases, local opportunities will increase there by ensuring

additional venue

4. More social media platforms are being used to keep students informed about the

curriculum and to directly distribute important and relevant content.

5. Establishing a digital community where commonly asked topics may be answered

in detail and students are aware of where to search for solutions on a regular basis.

6. Building letter standee to uphold the cohesion and affection that each student

already possesses. It demonstrates how devoted they were to their studies.

Feasible Long Term Outcomes

1. This project will contribute in increasing enrollment of the school

2. This shot will attract visitors this increase tourism

3. Through continuous enrollment, local business will separate income

V. RELATED RESEARCH/DATA

From the definition and discussion above it becomes clearer that landmarks

emerge in the process of perceiving, learning and memorizing an environment in a

par- ticular context, and that these memorized landmarks will be picked up in spatial

reasoning or communication processes. For objects in the environment to acquire

landmark quality these objects must somehow stand out. Furthermore, to contribute to

the embodied experience of the environment in which a person moves these ob- jects

must be related to the human body and human senses. Using a classification relative

to embodied experience introduced by Montello [34], these objects have to be

identifiable objects in vista space, environmental space, or geographic space. Vista

space is the space covering all objects that can be seen from a single view- point, and

with the naked eye. Examples are a room, an open plaza, or any other vistas in

streetscape. Environmental space is the space learned by locomotion—the movement

of the body coordinated to the proximal surrounds—and the integration of this

embodied experience. Examples are buildings that are learned only by walk- ing

through, or city districts that are learned by walking or driving around. All body

senses, including sight (vistas), contribute to an integrated, coherent mental repre-

sentation of these spaces. Geographic space is the space larger than environmental

space such that it can be learned only from symbolic representations such as maps.

Examples are countries or even larger cities, which cannot be explored completely by

foot, car or another form of locomotion.

VI. PERSPECTIVE AND LAYOUTS
VII. FACILITIES AND AMENETIES

Facilities:

 The proposed project is made up of concrete letter standee.

 The letter standee is composed of “I “ “a symbol of heart”, and “MinSU”

Amenities:

 Lighting

 Live Plants

VIII. RISKS AND ASSUMPTIONS

 Its stability is questionable because the landmark was built close to a pond, where
some of the soil is wet and soft.
Action. Make sure that the foundation of the landmark was strong enough to hold
the entire construction.

 Since the landmark is near in the highway and outside of the campus there is a
possibility to have an accident.
Action. Putting a barrier beside the sidewalk for the safety of people.
