PORTFOLIO IN TECHNOLOGY

FOR TEACHING AND

LEARNING 2

TRACY KIETH MARIE S. PANIZA

BTLED HE 3-A1
ILOILO SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY UNIVERSITY
2ND SEMESTER, AY 2022-2023
PREFACE
I am Tracy Kieth Marie S. Paniza. This portfolio was made
to use and develop; the information and technology skills
of a student. And this subject, Technology for Teaching
and Learning 2, helps to understand how I apply my
learnings to an actual field in the teaching profession and
how I will use the technological tools for my future
students to engage them in active learning, exploration,
collaboration, and to enhance their problem-solving skills
with the use of technology.

In this subject, and as a computer-literate future

educator, I want my students to explore more about
technology by guiding and helping them. And to use
technology for their school activities, projects, and
assignments. What I have accomplished in this subject is
that I’ve been attending this class to gain more
knowledge on how to properly apply the technology for
my teaching career and learning for my students. I’ve
learned a lot in this subject, and now I know when I
should apply the technology for my class discussion with
my future students and how the students will use the
technology properly.

And my insights in this subject are that I understand the

concepts and principles of technology and the different
models to be used in teaching and learning in the
classroom. As a future educator, I want my students to
embrace the importance of technology and how they will
use technology for their school work.

TOOLS FOR TEACHING AND LEARNING
PRINCIPLES OF USING TECHNOLOGY IN THE CLASSROOM

All instructional materials are aids to instruction. They do not

replace the teacher.
Choose the instructional material that best suits your
instructional objectives. Decide what you want to accomplish
and then employ the tools that are most likely to achieve results.
Do not let the media that is available to you determine how or
what you will teach. Instructional objectives serve as the basis in
the selection of instructional material and not instructional
material that is available that determines an instructional
objective.
If possible, use a variety of tools. Using videos, computers,
overheads, and the chalkboard riot only keeps students’ interest
but also responds to the needs of those who receive information
in different ways.
Check out your instructional material before class starts to be
sure it is working properly. Nothing is more frustrating to you or
to the students in the process of instruction than to find that the
overhead projector, for instance, does not work in the process of
instruction.
For results, abide by the general utilization guide on the use of
media given below:
Learn how to use the instructional material. Before using it, make
sure you know how to manipulate it to obtain the desired
product. Listen to the record or view the film ahead. Check the
correct size and complete parts of real objects, photographs or
models to be presented.
Prepare introductory remarks, questions or initial comments you
may need.
Provide a conducive environment. Arrange the chairs, tables and
equipment, and materials. Provide sufficient lighting and
ventilation.
Explain the objectives of the lesson.
