THE PRESENT CONTINUOS

1. We use the present continuous to show that something is happening


now or for a limited time.

 She is playing basketball with her friends. (It’s happening now.)


 He is living in Tokyo now. (It´s for a limited time.)

2. Provide context when expressing current situations. Normally these


sentences are accompanied by adverbs such as recently, currently or
lately, among others.
For example:

 She is crying a lot lately. = Ella ha llorado mucho últimamente

3. They express with certainty events or actions of the future.


 We are going to the cinema next Friday = Iremos al cine el próximo
viernes.
