our Seasons Place is a 65-floor block
comprising the Four Seasons Private
Residences Kuala Lumpur and the
Four Seasons Hotel Kuala Lumpur,
together with basement car parks,
a lobby and podium for commercial purposes.
The new structure is located on Jalan Lumba
Kuda, off Jalan Ampang, a prime spot right next
to the iconic Petronas Twin Towers, in the heart
of Kuala Lumpur.
The main contractor – CRCC Malaysia BH, one
of many construction companies linked to the
Chinese government – needed help with the
installation of the post-tensioning (PT).
VSL carried out the PT works using a tailor-made
approach. The group also assisted and advised
CRCC in all PT-related matters and produced the
PT shop drawings.
Space constraints were a challenge when
performing the PT works for the hotel, as
it is located in the very centre of town. As a
solution, much of the rebar was prefabricated
before delivery. The confined space also limited
the number of passenger hoists available, which
put pressure on staff and meant that efficient
strategies had to be developed. ENGINEER
Notably, each floor had to be divided into several Meinhardt (Malaysia)
small pours to avoid the need for delivery of Sdn Bhd
ready-mixed concrete during the hours of the
heaviest traffic in this very densely developed MAIN CONTRACTOR

VSL also had to face technical constraints during
the works, as the stanchion of the vertical
protection system obstructed the tendon- SCOPE OF WORKS
stressing operation at the edge of the building.
As a result, the tendons had to be stressed at a Post-tensioning installation
later stage, once the stanchion had been moved
out of the way and working platforms had been Technical support

Production of post-
PT was installed at every floor from level 7 to tensioning shop drawings
level 65. VSL’s GC 6-12 and GC 6-22 components
were used up to level 8 and VSLAB was used for
all the remaining levels. KEY FIGURES
