Imagine a world where every LED is an access point. We are consuming a lot of
wireless data and its grow is exponential. In 2016 we have consumed more wireless
data than in the whole history all together. Internet of Things is a reality.
Everything we know is digital and it is not secure. Increasing vulnerability of that
data. Light consumes a lot of energy.
Data and light might use the same power. There are a lot of access points
everywhere that I can see and that they can see me. All that access points are both
interference and security issues.
Li-Fi is the ability to transmit data wirelessly and be handed over from one source to
another. It is this ability to move freely around the location that allows us to connect
wirelessly and allow the user to have the same traditional experience as in wireless
communications except using ligth or medium that brings us to a very important point
that is that the LED becomes an access point and does not need to be really apart
from the other access point which increases the density of wireless access points.
Li-Fi solves the exponential groth in the demand for mobile data and provides
spacial and spectral reuse.

Nowadays the world has Zettabyte order data and since the Internet of Things, we
are surrounded by machines that are generating data constantly. Each user has
many devices of IoT. The resource here is the radio spectrum as oil is for many other
things. The visible light spectrum is much larger than the radio spectrum.
With advanced LEDs we can transmit 100 Gigabit per second which is 15 times
faster than the traditional Wi-Fi. It is more secure.
