Answer Key
All the answer points should be properly explained. Impressive language and writing style
should be followed. One word answer should be given as properly as in the question paper.
The answers should not have grammar and spelling mistakes. Explanations should be relevant
to the questions. Answers should be in full sentences. Half mark will be deducted for each
mistake

1. A wild woman who had red hair and seemed to be dressed strangely came running into
the room. She was Miss. Pross, Lucie’s maid. She came to the room to nurse Lucie as she
felt faint, Mr. Lorry had called for help.
2. When she heard that Mr. Lorry had taken Lucie to England from France as she became
an orphan, she fainted.

4. “Your father is alive. He has been found. He is with one of his old servants. He is greatly
changed and you must bring him back to love, life and comfort.”
5. Lucie is the daughter of Dr. Manette. She is a young beautiful girl looks like her mother.
She did not know anything about her past for the time being. She had been taken from
France to England by Mr. Lorry. She is very excited to take her father from France to
England.
