“There is only one standard by which a girl is judged as qualified for a badge and that
is the amount of efforts she puts into her work.”

Lord Baden Powell

1 Introduction
GuidingLIGHT, an acronym for Guiding Learning, Inspiring Girls and Harnessing
Talent is an initiative of Girl Guides Singapore (GGS) to leverage on an online platform
to deliver and strengthen the quality of the educational programme for Brownies and
Guides
The Enrolment module and revised five-Point programme have been incorporated into
the GuidingLIGHT. The Girl Guides educational methodology adopted in the
instructional design included learning in small groups, learning by doing, connecting
with others and the world. Girls will have greater accessibility to knowledge and
information and enhanced interactivity with the resources and tools.
Through the revised and innovative educational programme, the Brownies and Guides
will take ownership of their own learning at their own pace and developed as self-
directed and life-long learners in the knowledge-based economy of the 21st Century.
