The zero process must be accurately performed prior to each patient to calibrate the end-tidal carbon dioxide sensor. Key steps include using a clean, dry airway adapter without connection to a patient and placing the sensor on a stable surface away from air movement before initiating the zeroing from the device menu. The zeroing is complete once the "zero in progress" message clears.

Please Note:The Zero Process is crucial and must be performed accurately for it to work effectively.
Here are some steps to follow:
1. Zeroing should be performed prior to every patient
2. Wait for the sensor warmup to complete before starting the zeroing process. 3. Use a fresh, clean, and dry airway adapter for each patient. 4. Ensure that the arrow on the adapter and the arrow on the sensor are pointing at each other. 5. The airway adapter should not be connected to the patient or the anesthetic machine. It should be open to room air on both sides. 6. Place the sensor on a stable surface and out of any air movement before it is zeroed. 7. Access the ETCO2 menu on the device and select “ZERO” or “ZEROING” 8. Wait for the “ZERO IN PROGRESS” message to clear. 9. Zeroing is complete
