The Great Controversy

E G White
An American Reformer
334-335
In the year 1840 another remarkable fulfillment of prophecy excited widespread interest. Two
years before, Josiah Litch, one of the leading ministers preaching the second advent, published
an exposition of Revelation 9, predicting the fall of the Ottoman Empire. According to his
calculations, this power was to be overthrown "in A.D. 1840, sometime in the month of August;"
and only a few days previous to its accomplishment he wrote: "Allowing the first period, 150
years, to have been exactly fulfilled before Deacozes ascended the throne by permission of the
Turks, and that the 391 years, fifteen days, commenced at the close of the first period, it will end
on the 11th of August, 1840, when the Ottoman power in Constantinople may be expected to be
broken. And this, I believe, will be found to be the case."-- Josiah Litch, in Signs of the Times,
and Expositor of Prophecy, Aug. 11, 1840.
At the very time specified, Turkey, through her ambassadors, accepted the protection of the
allied powers of Europe, and thus placed herself under the control of Christian nations. The event
exactly fulfilled the prediction. (See Appendix.) When it became known, multitudes were
convinced of the correctness of the principles of prophetic interpretation adopted by Miller and
his associates, and a wonderful impetus was given to the advent movement. Men of learning and
position united with Miller, both in preaching and in publishing his views, and from 1840 to
1844 the work rapidly extended.

2 Selected Messages
Chapter 12
The Three Angels and the Other Angel
The Angel of Revelation Ten
page 107-108

The message of Revelation 14, proclaiming that the hour of God's judgment is come, is given
in the time of the end; and the angel of Revelation 10 is represented as having one foot on the sea
and one foot on the land, showing that the message will be carried to distant lands, the ocean will
be crossed, and the islands of the sea will hear the proclamation of the last message of warning to
our world. {2SM 107.3}{GC 393.4}
"And the angel which I saw stand upon the sea and upon the earth lifted up his hand to
heaven, and sware by him that liveth for ever and ever, who created heaven, and the things that
therein are, and the earth, and the things that therein are, and the sea, and the things which are
therein, that there should be time no longer" (Rev. 10:5, 6). This message announces the end of
the prophetic periods. The disappointment of those who expected to see our Lord in 1844 was
indeed bitter to those who had so ardently looked for His appearing. It was in the Lord's order
that this disappointment should come, and that hearts should be revealed. {2SM 108.1}
Note: The 7 Trumpets as dose the parable of the ten virgins it is of vital importance to mark,
locate the 3 angels massages. the Angel of Rev. 10:1-7 is the 1st Angel of 14:7 as EGW stated in
2SM above. Remove the Trumpets by placing them in the future and it destroys the 3 Angels
messages.

The proclamation of the first, second, and third angels' messages has been located by the word
of Inspiration. Not a peg or pin is to be removed. No human authority has any more right to
change the location of these messages than to substitute the New Testament for the Old. The
Old Testament is the gospel in figures and symbols. The New Testament is the substance. One is
as essential as the other. . . . These messages we are to give to the world in publications, in
discourses, showing in the line of prophetic history the things that have been, and the things
that will be--Manuscript 32, 1896. {CW 26.2}

In the future, deception of every kind is to arise, and we want solid ground for our feet.
We want solid pillars for the building. Not one pin is to be removed from that which the Lord
has established. . . . Where shall we find safety unless it be in the truths that the Lord has
been giving for the last fifty years?--Review and Herald, May 25, 1905. {Ev 610.3}

The evidence before us of the fulfillment of prophecy declares that the end of all things is at
hand. There is much important work to be done out of and away from Battle Creek. There will
be need of sanitariums in many of the cities of the south, as well as in other parts of America.
{KC 71.1} {BCL 48.4}

Every child of God should be intelligent in the Scriptures, and able, by tracing the fulfillment
of prophecy, to show our position in this world's history. The Bible was written for the common
people as well as for scholars, and is within the comprehension of all. The great truths which
underlie man's duty to his fellow men and to his Maker are clearly revealed; and those who really
want the truth need make no mistake. The way is not left in uncertainty, as though we were
standing where four roads met, not knowing which one to take. The truth is our guide; it is to us
like a pillar of cloud by day and a pillar of fire by night. {CSW 23.1}
The many contradictory opinions in regard to what the Bible teaches do not arise from any
obscurity in the book itself, but from blindness and prejudice on the part of interpreters. Men
ignore the plain statements of the Bible to follow their own perverted reason. Priding themselves
on their intellectual attainments, they overlook the simplicity of truth; they forsake the fountain
of living waters to drink of the poisonous stream of error.--Review and Herald, Jan. 27, 1885.
{CSW 23.2}

All who join the ranks of Sabbathkeepers should become diligent Bible students, that they
may know the pillars and groundwork of the truth. They should study prophetic history, which
has brought us down point by point to where we are at the present time. This is God's plan for
our school. Young men should attend who desire to become educated for any line of work, who
have capabilities, and see the necessity of learning more and still more where we stand today in
prophetic history, uniting link after link in the prophetic chain, even from Genesis to Revelation.
Christ is the Alpha, the first link, and the Omega, the last link, of the gospel chain, which is
welded in Revelation. These young men will not have fixed habits of wrong, or defects in
disposition and character that will make them inflexible. {10MR 171.1}

And many are doing the same thing (as the Pharisees by misapplying prophecy) today, in
1897, because they have not had experience in the testing messages comprehended in the first,
second, and third angel's messages. There are those who are searching the Scriptures for proof
that these messages are still in the future. They gather together the truthfulness of the messages,
but they fail to give them their proper place in prophetic history. Therefore such are in danger
of misleading the people in regard to locating the messages. They do not see and understand the
time of the end, or when to locate the messages. The day of God is coming with stealthy tread,
but the supposed wise and great men are prating about "higher education." They know not the
signs of Christ's coming, or of the end of the world.--Manuscript 136, 1897. {Ev 613.1}

Rev. 9:12 "One woe is past;" (5th trumpet) "and, behold, there come two woes more (6th and
7th) "hereafter." First Woe ended A.D. 1449.
11:14 "The second woe is past;" (6th trumpet) "and, behold, the third woe" (7th trumpet)
"cometh quickly." Second Woe ended A.D.1840, the Third Woe started 1844, (quickly four
years.)
11:15 "And the seventh angel" (3rd woe) "sounded;"

23. What is the Sanctuary?
PG 409, 414-415
The scripture which above all others had been both the foundation and the central pillar of
the advent faith was the declaration: "Unto two thousand and three hundred days; then shall
the sanctuary be cleansed." Daniel 8:14. . . .
The holy places of the sanctuary in heaven are represented by the two apartments in the
sanctuary on earth. As in vision the apostle John was granted a view of the temple of God in
heaven, he beheld there "seven lamps of fire burning before the throne." Revelation 4:5. He saw
an angel "having a golden censer; and there was given unto him much incense, that he should
offer it with the prayers of all saints upon the golden altar which was before the throne."
Revelation 8:3. Here the prophet was permitted to behold the first apartment of the sanctuary in
heaven; and he saw there the "seven lamps of fire" and "the golden altar," represented by the
golden candlestick and the altar of incense in the sanctuary on earth. Again, "the temple of God
was opened" (Revelation 11:19), and he looked within the inner veil, upon the holy of holies .
Here he beheld "the ark of His testament," represented by the sacred chest constructed by Moses
to contain the law of God.

"The temple of God was opened in heaven, and there was seen in His temple the ark of
His   testament." Revelation 11:19. The ark of God's testament is in the holy of holies, the
second apartment of the sanctuary. In the ministration of the earthly tabernacle, which served
"unto the example and shadow of heavenly things," this apartment was opened only upon the
great Day of Atonement for the cleansing of the sanctuary. Therefore the announcement that the
temple of God was opened in heaven and the ark of His testament was seen points to the opening
of the most holy place of the heavenly sanctuary in 1844 as Christ entered there to perform the
closing work of the atonement. Those who by faith followed their great High Priest as He entered
upon His ministry in the most holy place, beheld the ark of His testament. As they had studied
the subject of the sanctuary they had come to understand the Saviour's change of ministration,
and they saw that He was now officiating before the ark of God, pleading His blood in behalf of
sinners.  GC 433.1

In like manner I saw that Jesus regarded with the deepest compassion the disappointed ones
who had waited for His coming; and He sent His angels to direct their minds that they might
follow Him where He was. He showed them that this earth is not the sanctuary, but that He must
enter the most holy place of the heavenly sanctuary to make an atonement for His people and to
receive the kingdom from His Father, and that He would then return to the earth and take them to
dwell with Him forever. The disappointment of the first disciples well represents the
disappointment of those who expected their Lord in 1844. {EW 244.2}

Another Trumpet?

Notice that these quotes do not say "The" "7" "Seven" "Trumpets" but just Trumpets.

Question: is there other Trumpet (s) and is it yet to sound and what is it?
Answer: YES.

Lets begin with, Rev.

1:10 "I was in the Spirit on the Lord's day, and heard behind me a great voice, as of a trumpet,
1:11 Saying, I am Alpha and Omega, the first and the last: and,"

WHO IS SPEAKING? Christ!

But; Notice here that there is a Trumpet connected with the Vials/Plagues! What is this Trumpet?
"Solemn events before us are yet to transpire. Trumpet after trumpet is to be sounded; vial after
vial poured out one after another upon the inhabitants of the earth."--3SM 426 (1890). {LDE
238.1}

Notice this same connection of the Trumpet and the Plagues in this next description of Rev.16!

"After John's description in Revelation 16 of that miracle-working power which was to gather
the world to the last great conflict, the symbols are dropped and the trumpet voice once more
gives a certain sound: "Behold, I come as a thief. Blessed is he that watcheth, and keepeth his
garments, lest he walk naked, and they see his shame" [Rev. 16:15]. 14MR 96, (1896).

Who's is this Trumpet voice? Christ, our Redeemer!!! And no connection to the Seven Trumpets
of Rev 8, 9 and 11.

Zeph. 9:14 And the LORD shall be seen over them, and his arrow shall go forth as the lightning:
and the Lord GOD shall blow the trumpet, and shall go with whirlwinds of the south.

But it is said These 7 Trumpets warn the earth of God's wrath! Do They?

It is at the time that the third angels is seen flying in the midst of heaven,
proclaiming: "If any man worship the beast and his image, and receive his mark in
his forehead, or in his hand, The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God,
which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation." "Here is the
patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the
faith of Jesus." In marked contrast to the world stands the little company who will
not swerve from their allegiance to God. these are they of whom Isaiah speaks as
repairing the breach which has been made in the law of God, they who are building
the old waste places, raising up the foundations of many generations. {ST,
November 1, 1899.6}
The most solemn warning and the most awful threatening ever addressed to
mortals is that contained in the third angel's message. The sin that calls down the
wrath of God unmixed with mercy must be of the most heinous character. Is the
world left in darkness as to the nature of this sin?--Most assuredly not. God does
not deal thus with His creatures. His wrath is never visited upon sins of ignorance.
Before His judgments are to brought upon the earth, the light in regard to this sin
must be presented to the world, that man may know why these judgments are to
be inflicted, and may have an opportunity to escape them. {ST, November 1,
1899 par. 7}

God has called His church in this day, as He called ancient Israel, to stand as a
light in the earth. By the mighty cleaver of truth, the messages of the first, second,
and third angels, He has separated them from the churches and from the world to
bring them into a sacred nearness to Himself. He has made them the depositaries of
His law and has committed to them the great truths of prophecy for this time. Like
the holy oracles committed to ancient Israel, these are a sacred trust to be
communicated to the world. The three angels of Revelation 14 represent the people
who accept the light of God's messages and go forth as His agents to sound the
warning throughout the length and breadth of the earth. Christ declares to His
followers: "Ye are the light of the world." To every soul that accepts Jesus the cross
of Calvary speaks: "Behold the worth of the soul: 'Go ye into all the world, and
preach the gospel to every creature.'" Nothing is to be permitted to hinder this
work. It is the all-important work for time; it is to be far-reaching as eternity. The
love that Jesus manifested for the souls of men in the sacrifice which He made for
their redemption, will actuate all His followers. {5T 455.2}
