    Setting Up Family Members on PS4

    How to Add Adult Family Members


    1. Log in to your PS4 system as the family manager and go to [Settings] > [Parental Controls/Family Management] >
    [Family Management]. You may need to re-enter your account password.
    2. Select [Add Family Member].
    a. Invite existing accounts, using any of the following methods:
    i. Send an invite to [Users on This PS4].
    ii. Invite [Friends] if the user is on your Friends list.
    iii. [Enter Sign-In ID] to send an email invite if you know the email address the family member uses
    to sign in to PSN.
    b. Create a new local user on the PS4 system.
    i. You’ll need to enter a name for the user and their date of birth. You can also choose if you want
    to allow them access to parental control settings.
    ii. The first time the new user logs in to the PS4 system, they’ll be able to create their own account.

    How to add Child Family Members


    1. Log in to your PS4 system as the family manager and go to [Settings] > [Parental Controls/Family Management] >
    [Family Management]. You may need to re-enter your account password.
    2. Select [Add Family Member] > [Create User].
    3. Enter the child’s name and date of birth*, then click [Next].
    4. The User Agreement will appear and you’ll need to accept this to continue, then follow the on-screen instructions to
    set parental controls for this user. Find out more about setting parental controls and spending limits.

    * Children aged 7 to 12 years old cannot create their own account, and the Family Manager will need to do this for
    them. Children aged 13 to 17 years old can create their own account, as long as the Family Manager has allowed
    them to go online in their parental control settings.

    How to Assign Parent/Guardian Permissions


    As the Family Manager (Master Account), you can appoint another adult as a parent or guardian, giving them access
    to parental control settings for child family members.
    • Log in to your PS4 system as the family manager and go to [Settings] > [Parental Controls/Family
    Management] > [Family Management]. You may need to re-enter your account password.
    • Select the adult family member you want to appoint, and select the checkbox for [Parent/Guardian].
