EXECUTIVE ORDER NO. & SERIES OF 2014

" AN ORDER RECONSTITUTING THE MEMBERSHIP OF DAVAO CITY NUTRITION COUNCIL (DCNC)"

WHEREAS, Presidential Decree No. 491, otherwise known as the Nutrition Act of the
Philippines mandated the creation of the National Nutrition Council (NNC) as the highest policy-
making and coordinating body on nutrition;

WHEREAS, Executive Order No. 234 dated July 22, 1987, reaffirmed the need of inter-
sectoral national oolicv-making bodv:

WHEREAS, the National Nutrition Council established structural organization from

national, Regional, Provincial, City, Municipal and Barangay levels to coordinate the planning,
implementation and monitoring of nutrition activities in the country

WHEREAS, pursuant to the organizational structure established by the National

Nutrition Council, the City of Davao, in its Executive Order No. 09 , Series of 2004 created the
Davao City Nutrition Council, giving its member the term of one (1) year to serve ;

WHEREAS, the existence of the Davao City Nutrition Council is imperative to ensure
effective coordinated delivery of nutrition programs;

NOW THEREFORE, I, RODRIGO R. DUTERTE, Mayor of the City of Davao, by virtue of the
powers vested in me by law, do hereby reconstitute the Davao City Nutrition Council, as
follows:

SECTION 1 . COMPOSITION. The Council shall be composed of the following:

The council shall be represented by at least . members from Non-

Government Organizations or People's Organization, operating within Davao
City, to be appointed by the City Mayor, upon the recommendation of the
member, subject to the concurrence of the person concern.

Additional member/s may be appointed by the Chairperson upon the

recommendation of the members of the council.

SECTION 2. POWER AND FUNCTION-The Davao City Nutrition Council shall

exercise the following functions:

1. Assist the City Mayor in the identification, development harnessing

and effective utilization of available resources for the optimal efficient
and effective implementation of sustainable nutrition programs
2. Develops a comprehensive, integrated specific City Nutrition Action
Program
3. Coordinate the implementation and monitoring of agency nutrition
activities
4. Monitor, assess, evaluate the program implementation including
Barangay nutrition program performance;
5. Submit quarterly report to the City Mayor
6. Perform other function as may be designated by the City Mayor.

SECTION 3. TECHNICAL CONSULTANTS GROUP AND SECRETARIAT

SUPPORT.-There shall be created a Technical Working Group to assist the Council

The City Nutrition Office is hereby designated as the Secretariat of the

council.

SECTION 4. BUDGETARY REQUIREMENTS AND SOURCE OF FUNDS-the

administrative and operational budgetary requirement including the
corresponding honoraria for its members, technical working group, secretariat
shall be charged to City Mayor's Office, subject to the existing accounting and
auditing rules and regulations.

SECTION 5. REPEALING CLAUSE.-AII previous Executive Orders inconsistent

with this Executive Order are hereby repealed or modified accordingly.
 SECTION 6. EFFECTIVITY.-This Executive Order shall take effect immediately.
