Instructions: Watch the video Typhoon Haiyan: Eye of the Storm on YouTube

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-BnahLG_DmQ then, write a reaction essay on

the documentary using the following questions. Limit your essay to 300-500 words.

1. What are the impacts of climate change on meteorological patterns?

Based on what I've seen, the implications or meteorological trends include rising
global temperatures and rising sea levels. Because it was discovered that the rise in global
temperature was related to changes in weather patterns. A warmer atmosphere may
contain more moisture, resulting in more moisture for storm systems and more rainfall.
Climate change, experts believe, heats the seas' waters, providing energy that may feed
storms and cause sea levels to rise. Rising sea levels are also driven by glacier melting
and ocean warming, both of which are clearly attributable to climate change.

2. What pieces of evidence are presented that prove or reinforce the connection
between climate change and the changing meteorological patterns?

The rising of sea levels is also caused by the melting of glaciers and warming of
the oceans which evidently were attributed to climate change. According to Jeff Weber
(Atmospheric Researcher department), Typhoon Haiyan originated over the world's
hottest oceans. If climate change continues to create more extreme heat waves, sea levels
will rise, and deadlier storms are likely to affect the land in the coming decades. With
human-caused climate change, all of these severe weather occurrences and shifts in
weather patterns are more likely to become strong and frequent.

3. How did the documentary affect your personal beliefs and actions toward
protecting the environment?

This documentary serves as a stark reminder of how serious climate change is.
The over usage of greenhouse gases contributes to climate change. It is widened even
more by firms in the gas and oil industries, which are important contributors to climate
change. I've discovered that we, as customers, are uninterested in stopping, which
encourages large corporations to continue dumping fossil fuels into the atmosphere. I feel
that we, the people, are equally to blame for the destruction inflicted by the big typhoons.
If we stay unconcerned about climate-damaging activities, we will continue to be
oppressors. It made me reconsider my personal beliefs about how important
environmental protection is.
