Exercise (2)

(1) Use the moment-area theorems and

determine the slope at ‫ ܣ‬and displacement
at ‫ܥ‬. ‫ ܫܧ‬is constant.

(2) Use the moment-area method to determine

the slopes and deflections at points ‫ ܤ‬and ‫ܥ‬
of the beam shown.

(3) Determine the value of ܽ so that the slope at

‫ ܣ‬is equal to zero. ‫ ܫܧ‬is constant. Use the
moment-area theorems.

(4) Use the moment-area method to determine

the slope and deflection at point ‫ ܦ‬of the
beam shown.

(5) Determine the maximum deflection for the

beam shown by the moment-area method.

(6) Determine the slope to the left and right of

‫ ܤ‬and the displacement at ‫ܦ‬. Assume ‫ ܣ‬is a
fixed support, ‫ ܤ‬is a pin, and ‫ ܥ‬is a roller.
‫ ܫܧ‬is constant. Use the moment-area
theorems.
