A kid, coming along from its pasture, was chased by a wolf. Trying to be
brave, the kid turned and said: “I know, friend wolf, that you mean to kill me.
But as my life is to be short, let it be a merry one. Play your pipe and let me
have one more dance before I die.” While the wolf was piping and the kid was
dancing, some dogs heard the music. They ran to the place to see what was
going on. The wolf ran away from the place as fast as his legs could carry him.

There are different groups of fruits. The first group includes fruits which
may split open to let go or release seeds. Examples are beans, corn, and green
peas. This group of fruits is rich in protein and vitamins. The second group
consists of soft and fleshy ones such as apples and oranges which are rich in
vitamin C and other minerals. Many soft fruits are eaten by birds and
mammals, which help scatter the seeds.
The third group, called tropical fruits, grow in hot countries like the
Philippines. These are fleshy fruits such as mangoes, bananas, papayas, and
lychees.
The fourth group, called subtropical fruits, grow in warm places. These
fruits which are fleshy and juicy are rich in vitamin C and minerals. Examples
are grapefruit, lemon, and pear.
The last are temperature fruits that grow in places which are not so hot
or too cold. These are apples and strawberries.
