On motion presented by Councilor Rico J. Puno, duly seconded, all present members of the
Sangguniang Panlungsod approved the following City Resolution on second and final reading;

A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE HONORABLE MAYOR JEJOMAR

C. BINAY TO ENTER INTO A MEMORANDUM OF AGREEMENT
BETWEEN THE MAKATI CITY GOVERNMENT AND THE FEATI
UNIVERSITY ON THE DEVELOPMENT, PRESERVATION AND
ENRICHMENT OF THE FILIPINO CULTURAL HERITAGE, SUBJECT TO
ALL LAWS AND EXISTING LEGAL RULES AND REGULATIONS.
WHEREAS, the City of Makati is proud of its history and cultural heritage which it seeks to preserve
for posterity and/or generations to come;

WHEREAS, Barangay Poblacion had been identified as the Cultural Heritage Zone of the City it
having the distinction of being the oldest settlement site among the city’s barangays.

WHEREAS, as initial effort towards the development of the zone, Cultural Mapping Project on
Barangay Poblacion is proposed to be undertaken by the Feati University, with research grant from the
Spanish Program for Cultural Cooperation (SPCC) being administered by the Instituto Cervantes.

NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, AS IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE

SANGGUNIANG PANLUNGSOD OF MAKATI, METRO MANILA, BY VIRTUE OF THE
POWERS VESTED IN IT BY LAW, IN SESSION ASSEMBLED, to authorize the Honorable
Mayor Jejomar C. Binay to enter into a Memorandum of Agreement between the Makati City
Government and the FEATI University on the development, preservation and enrichment of the
Filipino Cultural Heritage, subject to all laws and existing legal rules and regulations.

Let copy of this Resolution be furnished the City Administrator’s Office, Feati University and other
concerned offices for their information and guidance.

This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon its approval.
