SPTVE CULMINATING ACTIVITY: “EVERYBODY IS A GENIUS!


May 3-4, 2023
Learners are naturally diverse in nature. Each of them has a unique potential nor skill
to develop. A teacher, together with all school personnels, stakeholders and partners, should
therefore create avenues where learners can enrich, practice, and develop their innate
potentials or skills to make learning a more meaningful and interesting one.
Camiling School for Home Industries as one of the prime movers of a wholistic
learning and an educational institution which aims to nurture and developed a well-rounded
individual geared up to be globally competitive, conducted its first Special Program in
Technical and Vocational Education (SPTVE) culminating activity on the 3 rd to 4th day of
May 2023 with the theme, “Everybody is a Genius!” A Showcase of Mastery, Dexterity and
Productivity.
The event showcased learner’s skills, creativity, and mastery of learning competencies
through bazaars and exhibits of learners’ outputs on different field of specialization as offered
by the school’s curricula. As part of the highlights of the two days activity, learners from the
different field of specializations offered a variety of experiences among visitors of the event.

Food Technology students prepared and sold varieties of foods such as butchi and
sushi; learners under Shielded Metal Arc Welding showcased their skills in the fabrication
process through a display of their creative works on metal fabrication; Computer System
Servicing made the event a memorable one through capturing images of participants though
their photo booth; Garment Technology students also prepared a booth with marketable
products such as potholders, ribbons and scrunchies; learners of Electrical Installation and
Maintenance prepared a booth showing electrical house wiring connections and CCTV; an
exhibit of bamboo chairs and other products by Bamboo Craft learners; learners coming from
Building Construction did also prepared a booth showing how plumbing works, outputs on
furniture and cabinet making, and other relevant outputs on their specialization; a showcase
of learner’s skills in Beauty Care and Wellness Technology; an exhibit of learners
architectural layouts on Drafting Technology; learners under the Automotive Servicing also
showed their mastery of learning on ignition and diesel engine through offering motorcycle
repair and maintenance and a display of their mock-ups; learners of Senior High School
Food Processing also showcased their skills in processing consumables products through
selling homemade chilli and shrimp paste, and chips. Teachers of the Academic and Senior
High School department also showed their support to the activity through a display of their
learners’ outputs on all related subjects.

Showing her support, Dr. Nancy C. Dolorosa, Education Program Supervisor on


TLE/TVL/EPP, together with Dr. Catalina Castaneda, Camiling East District Supervisor and
Mr. Redentor Tabamo, school principal of Josephine Cojuanco Technical Vocational
Department graced the invitation and attended the activity, motivating every learner to
actively participate on activities which allows them to showcase and nurture their existing
skill and knowledge and to develop not just their strengths but also their weaknesses.

It is indeed a successful activity which showcase learners’ mastery of learning


competencies, dexterity in performing tasks, and productivity.
