OVERVIEW
In this lesson, the students will focus on the grammar structure of the verb "be" in past simple,
meaning/form/pronunciation. The students are going to drill was/were in different writing tasks such
as filling the gaps and choosing the correct form of the verb. They will listen to the text and analyze
the grammar structure. Students will write sentences using simple past tense and practice it by
speaking.

Subject English  unit: 2 Time

Content Explain to students that we use the past tense to talk about events
that happened in the past.

At the end of this lesson, students will be able to:


General
Use the simple past tense form of the verb “be” to show actions that

• Brainstorming about using the verb "be" in different


contexts.

The teacher introduces the past tense drawing a simple timeline on


the board. In the middle of the timeline write ‘today’ and ask

students what day it is today and write that day on the board.

yesterday, etc.)

Practice Each student passes to the whiteboard and identifies with a
