Manns returns for more drum fun
by Amber Holahan, Recreation Coordinator
Residents loved their first visit with Olugbala Manns so much back in
November that Access the Arts brought him back for a second time to
have fun with the residents at the Medina County Home.
Manns, a professor of African Studies at Kent State University, taught
about topics that corresponded with drumming such as working as a
group, being receptive to others, and
kindness.
Residents learned how to drum to-
gether, stay on beat, and learned a new
song about love.
The Medina County Home loves
Manns’ talent and teachings and hopes
he comes back to visit soon.
