REPAIR SCHEME FOR FUEL LEAK BETWEEN

RIB13 AND RIB14 FORWARD SPAR DATUM BOTTOM PANEL

NOTE: This chapter provides the necessary information for repair fuel leak
between Rib13 and Rib14 forward spar datum bottom panel.

REPAIR MATERIAL

- Cleaning agent AR Mat. No. 11-004 (Ref. 20-31-00)

- Sealant AR Mat. No. 09-002A (Ref. 20-31-00)

- Drilling tool - 98S57205006-000 or 001

- Adhesion promoter AR Mat. No. 09-033A (Ref. 20-31-00)

REPAIR INSTRUCTIONS (Ref. Fig. 1)

1. Instructions before repair

A. Install aircraft in hangar.

B. Remove leading edge (Ref. JIC 574000-RAI-10000).

2. Repair procedure

A. Preparation

(1) Clean area to be repaired (Ref. 20-24-06).

(2) Check and select repair material.

(3) Select drilling tool to be used.

B. Repair

(1) Take off the nuts from the concerned area.

(2) Clean and degrease the faying surfaces (Ref. 20-24-06).

(3) Install the tool against the surface.

(4) Replace the nuts to keep the tool firmly in position.

(5) Drill hole taking care to respect the length "L" which corresponds to
the drill overlap in respect to the drill mandrel.

(6) Remove tool.

(7) Deburr the hole.

(8) Vacuum clean chips.

(9) Degrease the hole by injection of cleaning agent.

(10) Coat the hole (alodine + Primer + Top-coat protective) (Ref. 20-24-13
and 20-24-12).

(11) Inject adhesive (Mat. No. 09-033A) leaving it 15 minutes. Vacuum

clean.

(12) Inject sealant (Mat. No. 09-002A) inside the hole and leave it for
drying 24 hours (Ref. 20-22-12).

(13) Replace the nuts using sealant (Mat. No. 09-002A).

C. Close-up

(1) Clean working area (Ref. 20-24-06).

(2) Touch-up paint work (Ref. 20-24-12 and 20-24-20).

(3) Install leading edge (Ref. JIC 574000-RAI-10000).
