Novena to the Sacred Heart of Jesus

June 10-18, 2020

Sign of the Cross

Opening Song: “The Doxology”

Petition to the Sacred Heart of Jesus

My Jesus, Lord of my soul, You promised that Your Divine Heart
would be the ocean of mercy for the needy who trust in You. I firmly believe
that You can grant to me what I am asking even if it would require a miracle
to do it. Where should I go knocking but at the door of your Heart? “Blessed
are they who hope in You.”
O Jesus, I confide to Your Heart the following intention… (silently
mention your petition/intention here) Look at it and do what Your Heart
dictates. Let Your Heart act accordingly.
O Jesus, I count on You. I confide in You. I surrender and consecrate
myself to You. I feel secure in You. “Sacred Heart of Jesus, I trust in You.”

Efficacious Novena to the Sacred Heart of Jesus

Prayed daily by St. Padre Pio
1. O my Jesus, you have said: “Truly I say to you, ask and it will be given
you, seek and you will find, knock and it will be opened to you.” Behold I
knock, I seek and ask for the grace of ...
Our Father ... Hail Mary ... Glory be to the Father ...
Sacred Heart of Jesus, I place all my trust in You.

2. O my Jesus, you have said: “Truly I say to you, if you ask anything of the
Father in my name, He will give it to you.” Behold, in Your name, I ask the
Father for the grace of ...
Our Father ... Hail Mary ... Glory be to the Father ...
Sacred Heart of Jesus, I place all my trust in You.
3. O my Jesus, you have said: “Truly I say to you, heaven and earth will pass
away but my words will not pass away.” Encouraged by your infallible
words I now ask for the grace of ...
Our Father ... Hail Mary ... Glory be to the Father ...
Sacred Heart of Jesus, I place all my trust in You.

O Sacred Heart of Jesus, for whom it is impossible not to have compassion

on the afflicted, have pity on us miserable sinners and grant us the grace
which we ask of You , through the Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart of
Mary, Your tender Mother and ours.
Saint Joseph, foster Father of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, pray for us.
Hail, Holy Queen, Mother of Mercy, our life, our sweetness and our hope.
To you do we cry, poor banished children of Eve. To you do we send up our
sighs, mourning and weeping in this valley of tears. Turn then, most
gracious advocate, your eyes of mercy toward us,and after this exile show
unto us the blessed fruit of thy womb, Jesus. O clement, O loving, O sweet
Virgin Mary.
Day 1, June 10 - O gentle Heart of Jesus, You promised St. Margaret Mary
Alacoque that you would bestow on us “all the graces necessary in their
state of life.” Grant us the graces we need to fulfill Your holy will for us.
Day 2, June 11 - O loving Heart of Jesus, You promised that You would
“establish peace in the homes” of all revere you and you would “bless every
place in which an image of your Heart is exposed and honored.” Bless our
homes and our families, O Lord, with the peace and love only You can give!
Day 3, June 12 - O consoling Heart of Jesus, You promised to “comfort us
in all our afflictions.” Hear our prayers for ourselves and those most in
need!
Day 4, June 13 - O faithful Heart of Jesus, You promised to be our “secure
refuge during life, and above all, in death.” Be with us in the joys and trials
of life and grant us please, the grace of a happy death.
Day 5, June 14 - O magnanimous Heart of Jesus, You promised to
“bestow abundant blessings upon all their undertakings.” Bless us, O Lord!
Day 6, June 15 - O merciful Heart of Jesus, You promised St. Margaret
Mary: “Sinners will find in my Heart the source and infinite ocean of
mercy.” Immerse us in the ocean of Your mercy! Pour out your grace upon
us!
Day 7, June 16 - O tender Heart of Jesus, You promised that “lukewarm
souls shall become fervent and fervent souls shall quickly mount to high
perfection.” Help us and those we love to grow ever more in love with You!
Day 8, June 17 - O generous heart of Jesus, You promised to “give to
priests the gift of touching the most hardened hearts” and that “those who
shall promote this devotion shall have their names written in my Heart.”
Bless our priests and all those who share this devotion with others!
Day 9, June 18 - O Sacred Heart of Jesus, You said: “I promise you in the
excessive mercy of my Heart that my all powerful love will grant to all those
who receive Holy Communion on the First Fridays in nine consecutive
months the grace of final perseverance; they shall not die in my disgrace,
nor without receiving their sacraments. My divine Heart shall be their safe
refuge in this last moment.” Hear our prayers, Santo Niño! Come, Lord
Jesus!

Offering to the Sacred Heart of Jesus

O most Sacred Heart of Jesus, fountain of every blessing, I adore You,
I love You and with a true sorrow for my sins, I offer You this poor heart of
mine. Make me humble, patient, pure and wholly obedient to Your will.
Grant good Jesus that I may live in You and for You.
Protect me in the midst of danger, comfort me in my afflictions, give
me health of body, assistance in my temporal needs, Your blessing on all
that I do, and the grace of a holy death. Amen.

Consecration to the Sacred Heart of Jesus

O amiable Heart of my Savior, I adore You! O gracious Heart of my
Jesus, I love You! O compassionate Heart I give You my heart, and am
deeply moved by all You have done and suffered for me. Yes, I give You my
whole heart. Attach it eternally to Yourself. Inflame it with Your love.
Inspire it with Your sentiments. Make it know Your will and practice Your
virtue.
O Sacred Heart of Jesus, filled with infinite love, broken by my
ingratitude, pierced by my sins, yet loving me still – accept the consecration
that I make to You of all that I am and all that I have. Take every faculty of
my soul and body. Draw me, day by day, nearer and nearer to your Sacred
Heart, and there, as I can bear the lesson, teach me your blessed ways.
Amen.
