David Alyesworth - an American of
(NEE AKESODE) was, born in Lagos Nigeria, 16
noble descent and we’re blessed
November 1969. She was the eldest daughter
with two beautiful daughters Ariel
of Late Barrister Alade Ashimiyu Akesode esq
and Faith.
and Hon. Justice(Mrs) Inumidun Enitan Akande
She continued to practice her
(Rtd) (Nee Oshinowo of Ikorodu), former Chief
profession in the United States, as a
Judge of Lagos State.
Lawyer and was also successful
entrepreneur until she died.
She attended Methodist Girls High School,
Yaba where she obtained her WAEC and She was family oriented and very
proceeded to obtain her degree in Law ( LLB hardworking, which made her
Honors.) at Lagos State University Ojo Lagos successful in her legal profession
Nigeria. She obtained her ( B. L.) from Nigerian and other endeavors.
Law School, Victoria Island Lagos Nigeria.

She did her National Youth Service Corps She is survived by her Husband, her
(NYSC ) at Mobil Nig Limited, after which she two Children, Mother, Siblings,
was retained in their legal department as a Cousins, In-laws and Friends .

Kafayat later proceeded to obtain her Masters peace, Amen.

A Tribute to my Wife (Kafayat Morenike Alyesworth).
How do you sum up almost 22 years of life with Kafayat in a couple of paragraphs. She was my
wife, my love, the mother of my children. My companion, my biggest fan, my biggest critic,
who worried over me, took care of me and the children. She dedicated her life to making our
lives better. Finding her unresponsive in our home has still not set in my mind and heart. The
impact she had on our lives will never be fully understood and deeply missed. Her heart, her
energy, and her resources were all focused on whatever she was doing. She had two speeds
110 miles per hour or dead stop. (Both in driving and in her work life.)We came from two
different continents, two different cultures, two different social economic backgrounds and
still we loved each other. I praise God, I have cried more since her parting than I ever had to
during our marriage.  How can I explain what she means to me.  Words fail, actions fail but her
love never failed.

My mother has not stopped fighting for me since I was born, with me kicking and screaming
the entire way. When it was time for me to start school, my mother made sure that I got into
the best school in the area that would hopefully set me up for the rest of my life. As I moved
on to grade school and eventually West Point my mother continued to fight tooth and nail to
keep me out of harm's way. Consistently my mother has always been there to help me
accomplish my latest challenge, whether it be in school, sports or life in general. My mom has
spent hundreds of sleepless nights researching for what's best for me. Growing up my mother
would spend hours learning new concepts in order to explain them to me. My mother is

extremely selfless. Countless times, she has spent many hours staying up with me as I
finish my homework, sleeping after me, only to wake in a few hours.  Many days of
grueling over minute details to make sure that we are getting the best. So, thank you
mom. Thank you for your infinite love, for your support and for your indefinite sacrifices. To
conclude I want to leave you with a bible verse from Proverbs 31. verse 31 says, “Honor
her for all that her hands have done and let her works bring her praise at the city gate”
(Proverbs 31:31) I love you mom by the grace of God, Faith and I will bring your praise to
the city gate.

My mother, Kafayat M. Alyesworth has been one of the most inspiring figures in my life.
Whenever I think of stories of this, I think back to how my mom made my prom dress
amidst the hecticness of me studying for college entrance exams and my highschool
finals. I remember practically every afternoon after I would come home from track
practice  my mom would have another idea about how we could mend it or spice the
dress up.  Then we would sit down together and discuss the changes and try them on
the dress. But as these sessions would go on when we were not speaking about the
dress, my mom and I would talk about what I was doing in school or how I could more
effectively study for my exams. In these moments my mom would inspire me most, even
as she had what seemed to be endless creativity, she would make sure that I was
keeping the importance of my academics and she would always encourage me to strive
for excellence in everything no matter how busy I  am. Throughout my life, I will keep this
lesson with me, and I hope that one day I can manage things as well as my mom did.

Kafayat, it is difficult to write this. I am still reeling in great shock and trauma at the news May the Almighty forgive all your sins and grant you eternal rest. Rest in peace my sister,
of your death - I confess it has hit me hard. Surely , you were loved and will be missed by all of us.
You were my blood sister, we shared memories, joys and pains. So much of the journey
of life we were meant to have taken together but which suddenly has now become Sun re o!!! Egbon mi atata !!!! Sun re o!!!!! -
impossible and impractical as a result of the journey of life. I still have so much I want to Major General Samad Akesode - Brother
say to you, I never knew we didn’t have time.
Sister Kafayat had so much energy. She was creative and unrelenting with her goals.
A lot to say about you but unfortunately i am unable to still imagine me writing about you There was never a dull moment with her.

Sis mehnn, can’t believe this is happening and we r planning ur funeral.. We would laugh
and joke regarding ur Dad/Big-Daddy using big words, such as ‘ perfidious’, we would
tease eachother to no end, just to add ‘Perfidious’ to our Conversation. ..I would forever
cherish the memories of us living together and also going to school together in
‘Maryland and Benin’.. Toni Morrison said it best, “Something that is loved is never lost”… Ur

I thought I was dreaming. I am still trying to understand this because it makes no sense

My one and only Kafayat, I have asked myself a thousand times, why, how? It has been
very difficult to put words to paper. We are all struggling to come to terms with the fact
that you have left us. All we have now are beautiful memories of the time we spent
together growing up in the same house, and seeing you on my recent trips to the US. I
am glad you always made time to see me no matter how tight your schedule was.The
last time I saw you was on 2 July 2022. I had no idea that would be our last time together,
but I will always cherish this memory. Growing up, you were the youngest in the family, a
large household. You were everyone’s darling and easily disarmed us with your smiles
and laughter. I just could not ever get angry with you. Even in recent years when we

discussed serious family matters you always reminded me that as my little sister I
could not reprimand you. You listened to what I had to say, and always ended those
discussions with that big laugh of yours. You were such a fussy eater as a child and
often threatened to “mess up the food”. I remember when you had your tonsils
removed and we gently fed you with ice cream for days until you felt well enough to
swallow solids. I remember your nursery, primary and secondary school days, and you
growing up to become a pretty lady. Your dad doted on you and took you on all sorts of
exotic holidays with him.You, in turn doted on your own daughters. Our conversations
took place in between you dashing from one after school activity to the other. You
enjoyed motherhood and you devoted time to your family. Rightly so.. You had a good
life!Take heart David, Ariel and Faith. Kafayat is with the Lord. Rest in Peace Kafayat.My
