DIPLOMA IN POLICE SCIENCE PROGRAMME REVIEW

1.0 INTRODUCTION
The Royal Eswatini Police Service that believes in excellent service delivery
to their Majesties and the nation at large, therefore in a bid to achieve that
they then embarked in exercise of improving the standard of police
competencies it then introduced a Diploma in Police Science as a
programme that will help in capacitating police officers with essential skills
that are required in policing. The Diploma in Police Science is programme
that runs for a period of three years and the first intake was in 2018
whereby the first group of students graduated in 2022. The programme had
30 subjects and all subjects were treated as core subjects. Therefore this
review will focus on reviewing if the subjects do address the society needs
and the police efficiency in service delivery
2.0 RATIONALE
The programme review is done for the purpose of complying with the
programme review policy which prescribe that programmes shall be
reviewed after every five years in order to establish its effectiveness.

3.0 SIGNIFICANCE OF THE REVIEW

The programme evaluation will help in improving the programme
effectiveness and that will be done through removing irrelevant content and
subjects and also adding new subjects content that is relevant to the needs of
the society.
