1. PRELIMINARY NOTE:
LOYAL BIUILDING CONTRACTING LLC reserves the right to adapt the
methods used according to site needs and configuration. In the case of major
changes to the methods intended to be used, this method statement will be
resubmitted for approval. The Work shall be commenced upon approval of the
MS and RS by Client.

2. PURPOSE OF WORK:
This document defines the procedures to be used during the initial stage starting
from making for fixing the gypsum wall cladding, filling and sanding and
fixing of the 30X30 MDF on the wall.

3. SCOPE OF WORK:
The scope of work includes as follows,

 Gypsum wall cladding all the joints filling and sanding.

 Fixing on the wall MDF 30X30 cm access door for electrical points and it
will be fixed by screws.
 Double skin plywood fixing on the wooden structure for steps.
 PVC floor tiles fixing on the wooden steps & side safety wall both sides.
 Fixing of existing wooden painted wooden architrave.
 Wooden capping fixing on the safety wall top.

safety aspect is covered as per the procedures and overseas

the proposed work.

safety rules and regulations and oversee the process.

Overseas and directs the execution of work on site and
ensures that safety measures are in place and maintained.
General To Follow the Instruction provided by Supervisor and
workers follow site Safety rules and regulations at all time.

4. Safety Requirements:
 Worker involved must be inducted by Safety officer.
 Worker involved must wear complete and proper PPE requirements at all
times.
 Worker involved must be MS/RA briefed and recorded.
 All workers must be briefed with emergency procedure, Evacuation drill
procedure and general site rules that are followed at Mapei Site.
 Material Handling.
Induction and training shall be based on this safety program and shall
include but shall not be limited to:

(a) General Safety Policy of Contractor and Client.

(b) Briefing of Local Authority rules and regulations
(c) Briefing the MS and RS to Site team.
(d) Employee responsibility for property and safety of others.
(e) Employee responsibilities for reporting all minor and major
accidents.
(f) Procedures for reporting (OR) correcting unsafe conditions
of practice.
(g) Fire Fighting procedures.
(h) Alcohol/drug abuse policy.
Persons shall be permitted to start the work upon receiving the work
permit from mapei safety Team.
Persons shall not be permitted to work on the excavated area unless
provisions have be made to minimize the hazards.
Aluminium scaffold shall be used for the work at height.
All the personnel working on the scaffold shall hook their safety belt on
the handrails of the scaffold
Self-retractable fall arrester system will be used wherever necessary.
5. PERSONAL PROTECTIVE APPAREL AND SAFETY
EQUIPMENT (PPE)
 Personal protective devices shall be used as required.
 PPE’s shall be inspected regularly prior to use to ensure that it is Safe to
Use.
 All workers should be provided mandatory PPE, such as Coverall,
Helmet, Safety Shoes and Goggles
 Persons handling rough, sharp edged, abrasive materials or where the
work subjects to hand burns or bruises shall use hand Gloves.

 Persons working at height (i.e on the scaffold) shall be provided with Full
body harness system. Prior to use, make sure that the harness and the
Lanyards are Safe for use.
 All persons exposed to operations which subject the eye (OR) face to dust
or flying particles shall use Safety Goggles and Face shield.

6. EQUIPMENT & MANPOWER:

A list of equipment and manpower is given below.

7. SCOPE OF WORK:
 LOYAL BUILDING CONTRACTING L.L.C.

The scope work involved in fixing of the Gypsum wall joints, Fixing on the
wall MDF access door, double skin plywood fixing on the wooden structure,
and wooden capping fixing.

As an initial step, provide safe access for the site operatives to reach to the work
area.

 Obtaining the work permit from the Mapei Client representative and
ensure the work area is safe.
 Tool box talk training must be given to the workers about the scope of
work and the risk that are associated with the work must be
communicated.
 Job specific instruction must be given by the onsite supervisor.
 Providing proper access to the work execution area.
 Listed modification works shall be done by complying with the on site
safety rules..
 All site rubbish that arises during the modification work shall be stored in
the black cover and at the end of each shift, the waste debris shall be
disposed in the designated area.

8 Methodology:
8.1 Preparation Work:
 PPE must be worn at all times.
 Aluminium Scaffold shall be provided for all the height work activities.
 Ensure that the existing services drawing shall be identified before the
commencement of the work.
 All equipment shall be inspected, and all personnel shall be inducted
and trained before the commencement of work on site.

8.2 Gypsum Wall cladding joint filling:

 Loyal Engineer shall ensure that prior to commencing work the area of
the gypsum cladding filling shall be established, marked, agreed, and
recorded.
 Peel off the paper at the square edge of the boards.
 Apply joint filler compound in all the joints to fill the gaps.
 Apply joint filler over the mesh and screw positions in level of the boards
and leave it to get dry.
 The ceiling shall be finished with the client approved paint, Minimum
two coats of paint must be used.
 Up on completion of paint on the filling area, Loyal Engineer will review
the surface preparation before start of final finishing and painting work

8.3 Fixing Wall MDF Access Door

 This methodology of statements details the procedure for fixing
the wall MDF access door for the electrical point.
 Mark the wall of 30X30 cm for the access door and it shall be
reported to the client before the execution of the mentioned
activities.

 Mark the straight line to make sure of straight and even.

 Provide the required holes on the wall for fixing of the MDF sheet.
 Hang the vertical part of the MDF support to the wall.
 Hang the horizontal part of the MDF Support to back of the veneer
panel.

 Hang for temporary to see proportion of the access door.

 Follow the same procedure for all the rest of the panels.

 After the completion of the MDF Access door, Check for

 Employees working with the MDF sheet will be provided with

necessary personal protective Equipment’s such as: Safety
goggles, hand gloves, protective helmets, rubber boots, proper
mask is provided when handling.

 Warning tape will be tied in isolated area.

8.4 Double skin plywood fixing:

 Before the commencement of the activity. Loyal engineer will have a
look on the area where the plywood is to be fixed.
 Up on the approval from the client the plywood shall be fixed on the
wooden structure on the steps.
 All the measurement shall be obtained on site and it shall be verified with
the project engineer.

 Once the measurement is confirmed, plywood shall be cut in to the

required size.

 The initial portion of the plywood shall be fixed with the help of the
screws and it shall be followed for other portions also.

8.5 PVC floor tile fixing on the Wooden steps :

 Ensure that delivered materials form approved manufactures and in

original labelled packing.
 Mock-up shall be arranged for the PVC floor tiles at location designated
by the client.
 PVC floor tiles of approved size shall be used for laying.

 Ensure that the clearance are obtained from the client before fixing the
PVC floor tiles.
 Restrict the work area by providing the barricade with warning tapes and
signage’s to indicate the work is under process.
 Ensure that the of the floor Tile shall be as per the direction and pattern
agreed with the client.
 Tiling should be started from the start point as mentioned by the client.

8.6 Fixing of existing window painted wooden architrave:

 All the existing window painted shall be marked and it shall be

communicated to the work execution team.
 Upon the approval from the loyal engineer the work shall be started.
 Fixing of the existing window painted wooden architrave shall be done
with the help of the screws and silicon.

8.7 Wooden capping Fixing:

 All the wooden capping that are highlighted by the client shall be
attended by the trained / competent team.
 Client approved silicon shall be used for fixing of the capping.

9. Clear Working Area:

 Work area is cleared and materials disposed of, reused or recycled

according to legislation, regulations, codes of practice and job
specification.
 Tools and equipment are cleaned, checked, maintained and stored in
accordance with manufacturer recommendations and workplace
procedures.
 Documentation is completed in accordance with workplace requirements

10. Dismantle of the aluminium scaffold;

Reverse procedure of the scaffold erection shall be followed for aluminium

scaffold dismantle.

11. Rubbish Arising:

 At the appropriate time we will clear rubbish and debris arising

from our Modification works into the skips designated by Client.

12. Health and Safety Management Provisions:

 Specific safety measures must be in place as applicable.

 The Team will undertake safety induction /Pre job safety briefings.

 The Team shall be made aware of method of statements and

specific risk relating to their work.

 Respective work permits shall be acquired before work

commencement.

 Personal Protective Equipment such as Coverall, Hard hats, safety

goggles, safety shoes.
 Good Housekeeping should be maintained throughout.
