ACTIVITY 1.

ASSESSMENT:

1. Why physical inactivity is considered the biggest problem of the 21 st century?

Physical inactivity is a term used to identify people who do not get the recommended level of
regular physical activity. In the 21 st century physical inactivity is considered the biggest problem that our
world face. Why they considered it as the biggest problem of the 21 st century? What is the importance
of physical activity in our life? And what are the consequences of being physically inactive?

Now that our world is been modernized, many technological advances and conveniences that have
made our lives easier and less active, many personal variables, including physiological, behavioral, and
psychological factors, may affect our plans to become more physically active. With technological
advances and convenience, we become lazier. Digital gadgets used in daily life tend to be sedentary.
Utilizing these devices for longer periods of time encourages a more sedentary lifestyle, which is known
to have negative health effect. A more active lifestyle may be encouraged by finding ways to take breaks
from sedentary technologies. It has been demonstrated that regular exercise and engaging in physical
activity helps control and prevent noncommunicable diseases like diabetes, heart disease, stroke, and
several cancers. Moreover, it lowers blood pressure, supports a healthy body weight, and enhances
mental health, wellbeing, and quality of life.

Physical inactivity is an established risk factor for premature mortality and several non-
communicable diseases and one of the leading risk factors for noncommunicable diseases and death
worldwide in 21st century. It increases the risk of cancer, heart disease, stroke and diabetes by 20–30%.
It is estimated that four to five million deaths per year could be averted if the global population was
more active. Being physically active. Regular physical activity is one of the most important things you can
do for your health. Being physically active can improve your brain health, help manage weight, reduce
the risk of disease, strengthen bones and muscles, and improve your ability to do everyday activities.
ACTIVITY 2.

ASSESSMENT:

1. How physically fit do I want to be?


I want to be physically and mentally healthy. Nowadays, when various diseases are
prevalent, we must engage in physical activity. Doing some simple exercise and eating nutritious
foods on a daily basis improves my physical fitness and lowers my risk of developing a serious
illness.

2. How important is it for me to reduce my risk of getting heart disease and diabetes?
It is very important for me to reduce the risk of getting these kinds of diseases because I
want to live a long life here in this world, and if I get these diseases, it could possibly shorten my
life because there are so many cases of people who have died from these diseases.

3. What physical activities can I engage in considering my current fitness level?


A simple exercise daily and balance diet.

4. How can physical activity give me opportunities to have fun or be with friends and family?
Exercise with your family and friends is a fun activity. This could be one of your bonding
times with your loved ones, and you will all be healthy at the same time.

ACTIVITY 3.

ASSESSMENT:

1. How important is it for me to maintain my physical activity?


To become physical fit that I want to be and also to maintain a healthy lifestyle.
2. How can I improve my physical activity at home?
Make a workout plan, set for schedule and most importantly exercise regularly.
3. Can physical activity protect me against diseases?
We cannot avoid having diseases, but physical activity can reduce the risk of several diseases
and health conditions and help to have a healthy lifestyle.

ACTIVITY 4.

ASSESSMENT:

Based on the video, would you count yourself as physically active or inactive? Why? With your current
status, what do you think will be the implications of your present status to future health?

The videos show simple ways of exercising that help to be physically active, and based on the videos,
I count myself as physically active. I do many of the activities shown in the videos in my daily routine,
such as walking, running, jumping, and many others. So, I can say that I am physically active because,
even in a simple way, I make myself engage in physical activities. And in the future, having a healthy
body will be the outcome of engaging in physical activities.
