FRED
I'm an actor not an acter! I do performances. That's why I didn't
go for the musical.
BEA
Let's be honest. You didn't go for the musical cos you can't sing
or dance. Am I wrong?
FRED
Well okay but come on I'm clearly the best at performing here
MAZ storms in through the door. She goes past Emma and Fred to sit down
next to Fred
MAZ
I have good news and I have bad news.
She sits down.
MAZ
The bad news is the entire of the cast of the musical got covid and
the good news is that the school has asked us to perform instead.
EMMA
That's all just bad news.
BEA
No no this could be fun.
FRED
But it's a musical.
BEA
Come on it's a bit of fun.
FRED
Alright alright
MAZ
Great! We have a week.
BEA
A week?
FRED
Hey, I'm Fred. A drama student at Cardon secondary.
We cut to Bea's introduction interview
BEA
Heya! I'm Beatrice Marshall and I'm a A-level drama student at
Carldon secondary school.
MAZ
Hey I'm Maz, I'm a drama student at Carldon secondary.
Maz hands out different scripts to everyone saying what characters they
have. Maz and Bea are stood next to each other.
BEA
So I was thinking maybe I could play Dorathy
MAZ
Haha, That's cute of course I'll be Dorathy
BEA
But I thought we said...
MAZ
No no no I was always going to be Dorathy.
BEA
(to Fred and Emma)
So you guys are just gonna stand there?
MAZ
(Shouting )
I've decided to let you be my understudy
BEA
SOmewhere over the rainbow
MAZ
(Cutting in)
SOMEWHERE OVER THE RAINBOW
They both continue to sing lyrics louder and louder to try and
overpower each other and they both end up storming off again.
INT. Drama Studio: Day
Fred and Emma collect all the costumes they need
FRED
So who are you playing?
EMMA
The witch.
FRED
So they won't need any makeup then?
AUNT EM
Wake up, honey.
DOROTHY
Theres no place like home -- there's no place like home -- no place
AUNT EM
Dorothy. Dorothy, dear. It's Aunt Em, darling.
DOROTHY
Oh, Auntie Em -- it's you!
AUNT EM
Yes, darling.
EMMA
I am actually out of words, how can they think that was good. What
do you think Fred
FRED
I'm a really good actor
EMMA
Who would you pick for the part though
FRED
I have no idea probably myself.
BEA
So? what do you guys think?
FRED
It's me, I'm playing Dorothy
Maz and Bea stay silent with stunned looks on their faces
A short montage of them all performing a few things in different
outfits (30 secs)
Interview with Fred and Bea
FRED
So how did you think day 1 went?
BEA
Yeah not too bad. It started off a little rough but once we got
going it went alright.
FRED
(Looking smug)
Yeah well we had the right actors for the right actors in the right
roles so it went alright.
Next day, they are all in the main hall practicing a scene.
FRED
(IN squeaky voice)
Oh no, It's the wicked witch.
EMMA
(interrupting)
Oh my god Fred do you have to have that Fucking voice
FRED
It's part of the character EMMA! I have to
The continue arguing as we cut to a shot of Maz and Bea talking to each
other. They are sat with a char inbetween them.
BEA
You know this wouldn't happen if you just let me play Dorothy
MAZ
Yeah if I were playing Dorothy then
BEA
Yeah well I'm the most professional one here so.
They look at each other and start arguing as well which results in Bea
walking out. She walks up the stairs by the side of the stage and
pushes past the camera.
BEA
(to camera)
no don't follow me. Piss off
Location Recce
Permissions
Granted by Rebecca Crossingham for available days
Yes there are lights inside but they are all florescent I will adapt my white balance to suit the lighting.
Usually quiet but some places there’s buzzing I’ll use a directional boom mic to capture audio
closer to the actors talking.
Hazards: Solutions:
A couple trip hazards and electrical hazards I’ll put down high visibility tape for trip hazards and
make sure people are aware of the electrical
hazards notifying them of the fire exits and
assembly point as well.

Sinks in and out of character seamlessly and feels very real as a drama student. Was able to project
her voice and seems like she could act very angry.
