GUIDE QUESTIONS

Properties of matter includes traits that can be measured such

as the mass, volume and temperature of an object. It is the
example physical properties that observed without changing
the composition matter.
How chemical properties and physical properties differ to
each other?
Why matter change in state?

GUIDE QUESTIONS

Physical properties may be observed without changing the

composition matter, whereas chemical properties can be
observed when a change occurs.

Physical properties can be observed when the matter's

physical appearance changes but its composition does not.

A chemical change modifies the original matter's

composition, by transforming it into another material, you
can see and observed its chemical properties.

If the physical properties of matter change in a sample of

matter, certain characteristics of the material change but
the identity of the matter does not, such as when
crumpling a paper, the appearance changes but the
composition does not.

If chemical properties change, it can only be seen when

the matter changes to become a completely different form
of matter, such as when paper is burned a new substance
forms.

1. When sugar and sulfur are mixed with water, they behave
differently. Sulfur can be filtered out of water due to its
insolubility, which allows it to be easily filtered out using
the filtration method.

2. Physical properties can be observed if the banana is

treated with calcium carbide. Its appearance and color
change: if the banana is unripe, its color is green; if the
banana is ripe, its color is yellow. It is chemically ripe
because they produce a gas that causes the fruit to ripen
and soften.
