In today's lesson, it taught me that the Philippines, also known as the Pearl of the
Orient Seas, is a country full of wonderful places, most of which are visited by
tourists from different countries. It is made up of 7,641 islands, making it one of
the largest archipelagoes in the world. The country's islands are divided into three
main groups: Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao. The location of the Pacific ring of fire
makes the Philippines more vulnerable to natural disasters like for example,
earthquakes and volcanic hazards. There are plenty of active volcanoes you can
find here. Some of them are Mt. Pinatubo in Zambales, Mt. Taal in Batangas, Mt.
Mayon in Albay, and many more. For me, there are so many places here in the
Philippines that are worth visiting compared to other destinations in the world.
We must love and visit our own tourist spots first, rather than other destinations
abroad. And also, the economy of the Philippines is growing due to its rich natural
resources such as gold, silver, and others. Looking for ways to strengthen the
Philippine economy, tourism is the natural place to start. More than any industry,
tourism provides jobs in abundance. The Philippines is bounded by three large
bodies of water: on the west and north by the South China Sea; on the east by the
Philippine Sea; and on the south by the Celebes Sea. It has 18 regions, 81
provinces, 145 cities, 1,489 municipalities, and 42,029 barangays. The Philippines
is a stunning country, and each province has its own beauty, culture, and
traditions.
