1-1-1 Different Power Source Scenarios leading into the van to the Mains Distribution Panel
You can use one of two different sources for the power source going to the van:
• Landline (also known as shore power) — This is a power source coming from the Hospital’s central
power system. Power can only be provided to the van when the van is in close proximity to the
hospital site, since it needs to be connected to the landline’s power connections.
• Van Generator — This is a diesel or petrol powered generator that co-exists with the van. Therefore,
if operating the Van Generator can still provide power to the van during transportation when the van
is not in close proximity to the hospital.
An optional van Uninteruptable Power Supply (UPS) can exist between the van power source and the
van Mains Distribution Panel. The optional UPS provides protection and regulation of the power source.

To permanently store the DICOM images on the hospital PACS mainframe, there are two different
methods to import the DICOM images from the ITRS Computer to the hospital PACS mainframe:
• If the ITRS Computer is a laptop then it can be connected to the PACS mainframe via the hospital
LAN to import the DICOM images via the hospital LAN.
• If the ITRS Computer is a desktop (or a laptop with no access to the hospital LAN), the ITRS
Computer is used to burn the DICOM images to DVD-ROM. Then the DVD-ROM is used to locally
import the DICOM images onto the hospital PACS mainframe.
The ITRS is a DICOM-compliant system, but can experience some data corruption at times. Therefore,
you must follow the principles listed below to ensure that your DICOM images are never lost:
• If you have created a DVD-ROM with the DICOM images on the ITRS Computer, you must check the
integrity of the DICOM images on the DVD-ROM to ensure that they are not corrupt before you
attempt to import them on the hospital PACS mainframe. To do this view the DICOM images on the
ITRS Computer after you have created the DVD-ROM.
• Once you have imported the DICOM images to the hospital PACS mainframe (via the laptop
connected to the hospital LAN or DVD-ROM), you must verify that the imported DICOM images on
the hospital PACS are not corrupt.
Once you have validated that the imported DICOM images are stored without corruption on the
hospital PACS you can remove them from the AWS.
