1928 - Galvin Manufacturing Corporation was established in Schaumburg, Illinois by brothers Paul
Galvin and Joseph Galvin.

1947 - Galvin Manufacturing launch a new car radio named “Motorola”. As Motorola became popular
with the public, Galvin Manufacturing decided to change its name into Motorola, Inc.

1983 - Motorola's first cellular telephone network went into full commercial operation as the company
produced its final car radio.

1984 - Motorola was the first one to introduce the “flip phone” called MicroTAC and the “clam phone”
called StarTAC.

1998, Nokia surpassed Motorola as the top seller of mobile phone handsets globally.
