Give simple description of the component and system related to telephone system.

1, Telekom Malaysia Exchange

Answer: The Telekom Malaysia Exchange, sometimes referred to as the Central Office, is a
building where a telecommunications network's switching hardware is kept. It is the location
where every phone line in a specific region is linked. The exchange is in charge of directing
calls among several lines and offering features like caller ID and call waiting.

2. Private Autaomatic Branch Exchange

Answer: Businesses and organisations utilise a phone system called a Private Automatic
Branch Exchange (PABX) to facilitate internal communications. A PABX usually includes a
switching system, many phone lines, and a number of functions including call forwarding,
voicemail, and conference calling.

3, Main Distribution Frame

Answer: The Main Distribution Frame (MDF) is the hub where all of the building's phone
lines are linked. The MDF is often found in a closet or communications room. The telephone
lines terminate in the MDF and are linked to the PABX or to the outside lines from there.

4. Description of Category 1 Telephone Cable Incoming Size

Answer: Copper cables of the category 1 variety are used to link telephones to the
communications network. Category 1 cable, which supports up to 100 pairs of telephone
lines, is generally used for interior wiring.
5. Describe the internal telephone system for Multi Dewlling Unt Premises.

Answer: A PABX system is often used as the internal phone system for multi-dwelling unit
(MDU) buildings. The MDU's occupants have access to internal communications through the
PABX system, which is connected to the outside lines. Common functions of the PABX
system include call forwarding, voicemail, and conference calling.

6. Desribe the requirement of Telecommunication Room installed in Multi Dwelling Unit,

Answer: A multi-dwelling unit's (MDU) telecoms room must adhere to specific standards.
The space has to be safe and only open to authorised employees. In addition, the space has to
be well chilled and aired. There has to be a fire suppression system in the room. Additionally,
the space needs to be big enough for the telecommunications gear that will be put there.
