INFORMATION ASSURANCE AND SECURITY
MODULE 1
LEARNING ACTIVITY NO. 1

In R.A. 10175, was the term information security defined? Why do you
think the law needs to, or NOT to define it? Do you think the law
needs revision to catch-up with the world’s fast-changing
technology? Why or why not?
ANSWER:
The term information security was defined in Republic act 10175. The law
needs to define it because we all know that Republic Act 10175 or also
known as the cybercrime prevention act of 2012 is a law that protecting
your privacy, confidentiality, integrity, and availability, so in short, the law
includes the protection of your information, so it is necessary to defined
information security. Yes, I think the law needs some revision, we all know
that a lot of things is changing so fast, even the technologies now a days,
so there are possibilities that some part of the law can not be applicable to
some offenses. So, it is important to revise the law to catch up with the
world’s fast changing technology.
