Online exam procedure:Two device (Laptop/Desktop and Mobile)

SIT Exam Overview?

The SIT various semester final examinations is going to be conducted through Remote proctored mechanism. The
candidates are required to take the examination with utmost solemnity and ensure that all the instructions are strictly
followed. SIT reserves the right to disqualify any candidate who is found to be indulging in any kind of malpractice.

SIT will have two devices examination processes and one of them will be a mobile or tablet and that will be used for
proctoring. Use of third device , books, any other electronic device, supporting study material , additional persons etc.
during the exam will amount to malpractice. Important instructions to be followed before and during the online SIT
Examinations.

Infrastructure for appearing examination?

Below are important prerequisites to take an Online Exam for SIT EXAM 2020-2021 Examination. It is advised to follow

 Operating System : Windows 7, 8, 10 and Ubuntu LINUX (14.1 and 16) version for desktop or laptop
 Intel P5 or Core i3 or above
 In case of mobile only Android 5.0 and above with 4GB of RAM
 Minimum 4GB of RAM 
 Minimum 100 MB of free space
 Internet connectivity: minimum 2 Mbps un-interrupted internet speed is desirable
 Connected to power supply or having battery of 3 hrs backup
 Chrome & Firfox on windows 7 or windows 10.
 Latest Chrome browser in smart phones
 Exam Safe browser incase of desktop or laptop
 One needs to come to examination seating minimum 30 mins prior to exam. One will not able to leave exam
once photo validation is done.
 20 pages of A4 size white papers needed to be with candidates prior to examination.
 Each question answer should be visible clearly with proper margin and numbering of questions and
answer in sequence.
 All answers should be scanned and uploaded in 15 mins after subjective test is over. Otherwise the examination
will be considered null and invalid.
 Each answer sheet should clearly mention the page number in top.
 One should not write his/her name , roll number etc in answer sheet.

Setup Before Exam:-

A. For Live Proctoring(Invigilation):-(Device-1: Mobile)
 Download updated zoom application and Install it.
 Sign up zoom and make sure your display name must be your SIC No.
 Don’t turn off the video in zoom settings.
 Install exam proctoring app in your device-1(mobile)

B. For Appearing Examination:- (Device-2: Laptop/Desktop)

 Install Safe Exam Browser(SEB)
 Candidate has to appear examination through safe exam browser only .For that he/she should have installed it
in their Laptop or Desktop.

 After installing SEB , candidate has to download SEB configuration file. Click below for download

During Exam:-
Step: 01 -For Live Proctoring (Device-1: Mobile)
 Open Proctoring mobile app installed before the examination.
 Enter your user Id i.e. SIC No. in capital & password is password.
 Please select your organization as “Silicon institute of Technology, BBSR” from the dropdown in the
‘Select Organization’ tab.
 If wrong credentials appears in log in then go to exam app setting and clear data/cache).Again
login.

 After successful login, you will be asked for photo validation.

 Candidate has to validate his/her photo by click on the button “take photo”.
 Next click on “validate’’ button.
 The instant captured photo will be matched with official photo .(If photo will not match then a red color
ribbon will be displayed to retry .you need to retry three times for validation success.)
 Don’t Retake ,only Retry three times for photo validation incase of mismatch
 After successful match, candidates will be allowed to enter Exam Room/proctoring room.

 After successful photo validation, exam name will be displayed in the screen and click on “join exam
room/proctoring room” .
 If no exam shows up then wait to start time of exam by exam notice .Keep swipe to refresh the
screen.Then exam details will be displayed shown in above pictures.
 Live proctoring is going on means you are being monitored by invigilator from college .
 Automatically a new page of zoom application will open and join with video mode.( If zoom will not
open automatically then contact centre superintendent for zoom id and password )
 Keep this proctoring device in such way that it will display your picture and the exam device (2) clearly.
 Position of sitting in a such a way that your exam room ,computer, table and yourself should come in
video. Take your sitting as shown below.
Step: 02 -For Exam appearing(To get question paper) (Device-2)
Login:
 Open downloaded SEB configuration file.(That is Live Online Exam file from download folder in your
computer)
 Click on “No” option in SEB re-configured warning message.

 Enter User name (SIC number in capitals) and password is password.

 Please select your organization as “Silicon Institute of Technology, BBSR” from the dropdown in
the ‘Select Organization’ tab.
 Enter Captcha code as shown and click on login.
After Login:-
A. Exam Attempt:
 Click on the ‘Attempt’ button for the exam shown. If you have exceeded the maximum allowable entry
time for appearing the exam, then you can not appear the exam.


 Similarly if you have not joined the Exam Room/proctoring room in device-1, then you will be not allowed to
appear the exam.
 Write the answers in plain papers against each questions displayed in the exam screen.
 Use a new sheet for answering a fresh question.

 Your exam will be completed once time will over or you will click on the answer upload button shown in the
screen.
 

B. Answer Sheet upload: ( By Proctoring Device-1)

 Now open the minimized proctoring application in the device-1.
 Click on “answer Upload button” shown in the application.

 Take photo from the device and upload the answer sheet with in the specified time

 Take photo of answer sheets one by one by clicking “+” sign
 EXAM IS OVERED
Note: If you don’t have Laptop/Desktop ,try to arrange immediately or you can appear the same from
college campus.
