Geologic Report(s) Dated:

Soils Engineering Report(s) Dated:
Geotechnical Report(s) Dated:
References: Southwest Geotechnical Report for 35225 Robinsong Road (11/16/2017)

Action: Plan is not recommended for approval from a geotechnical standpoint for reasons below.

G1. The referenced geotechnical report for the neighboring property indicates that onsite alluvial soils may be subject to
hydroconsolidation. Also, undocumented fill may have been placed onsite. Provide a soils report, with sufficient subsurface
exploration data, pertinent test results, and analyses that address and evaluate the site and the proposed development. The
report must comply with the provisions of the County of Los Angeles Department of Public Works Manual for Preparation of
Geotechnical Reports. The Manual is available at: http://dpw.lacounty.gov/gmed/permits/docs/manual.pdf.

G2. Based on the proposed location, provide data on the possible adverse impact of the private sewage disposal system relative to
site stability and adjacent properties. Discuss the path of migration of effluent and whether daylighting of the effluent will occur.
Stability calculations must consider the effect on groundwater. Show on geologic cross section(s) the anticipated path and
saturation from the effluent based on hydrogeology of the site.

S1. A search of our records indicates a potential for soils subject to hydroconsolidation at the subject site. Therefore, provide a
report, with sufficient subsurface exploration data, pertinent test results, and analyses that address and evaluate the site and
the proposed development. The report must comply with the provisions of the County of Los Angeles Department of Public
Works Manual for Preparation of Geotechnical Reports. The Manual is available at:
http://dpw.lacounty.gov/gmed/permits/docs/manual.pdf.

S2. Show/Note the following on the building plans:

a. Approximate limits and depth of removal and recompaction of soils subject to hydroconsolidation.
b. All County of Los Angeles Department of Public Works standard notes regarding fill compaction and density testing
requirements.
c. All recommended mitigation measures.

S3. Add the following note on the building plans: Foundation excavations must be inspected and approved by the geotechnical
consultant(s) prior to the placing of steel or concrete.

S4. All recommendations of the geotechnical consultant(s) must be incorporated into the design or shown as notes on the plans.

S5. The geotechnical consultant(s) must review the plans and sign and stamp, as appropriate, the plans in verification of their
recommendations. Digital plans shall include an electronically generated representation of the licensee’s seal, signature, and
date of signing on each sheet appropriate to the foundation system, recommendations, and notes.

S6. Submit building plans for verification of compliance with County Codes and policies.

S7. Please submit documents in response to this review using the EPIC-LA system at the following URL:
https://epicla.lacounty.gov/SelfService/#/home. The documents must be submitted to the EPIC-LA plan case number shown at
the upper left corner of the first page of this review sheet. Please contact GMED staff at (626) 458-4925 if documents cannot
be uploaded to the plan case.

S8. Include a copy of this review sheet with your response.
